Help with my first Track Day.

I'm having trouble getting signed up and ready for a track day. If anyone would help me out finding out how to sign up for just one. I don't really want to join a organization and pay membership fee's. Do you have to do this? I also was wondering if someone could help me look over my bike make sure it will pass tech. So if any of you experienced trackers want to shed some light on the subject for me I would be enthralled.

no you do not have to pay member ship fees or be part of an organization. who are you going through and what track? if you go to there web site you will be able to do it all right there. set up and paid.

go here and find the day you want to go. to the right of that is who is putting it on. Go to there website and you should be able to figure it out from there.

THe 26th of this month is PSSR, the 27th is CTT ( www.cascadetracktime.com (http://www.cascadetracktime.com) ). Both have reputations for being excellent for first timers.

If your bike is stock I'd say put a set of good tires on it and you'll be fine getting through tech.

I'm riding up the day before, and staying at a friends house the night before to prep my bike. He's going to haul it to/from the track for me. You will need to tape the lights off and I think remove the mirrors. That stuff should all be listed on the site too. I'm sure Mike (Flyte Risk) will bring some tools with us to the track, if you need any.

I can toss my top box in the truck with a few other things and we should be set. The mirrors don't have to be removed for CTT, just taped up. I have a few days to prep so I'll try to have everything you guys might need. Maybe even some race gas.

THe primary thing is to make sure your tires are good and you trust them. Track days can be brutal on tires if you get into your groove.

It is a really good idea to trailer up. You will be very tired after a day on the track the pssr day will be a good one for first time people because it has 3 groups the cascade day only has 2 groups. You will also need lots of water. have a great time.

So hopefully I will be getting signed up in the next few days and going over all my gear. I have no other way except riding up. Maybe Ill just try and find a friend to stay with up there after the track day. Thanks for all the replies hopefully I will be able to make it.

I would never ride that far to a track day. If I lived in town maybe. But, what happens if some thing goes wrong and you end up bobsledding it. Unless your with people from your town and they have room for you and your bike. just something to think about.

Not signed up yet. As soon as the freaking homeowner that I'm working for cuts me a check, I'm in.:bash: Should be Monday.:thumbup: Got all my gear and a new back tire. Just need to pay my fees and put frame sliders on my bike.

oh and clint fixed my starter issue no more push starting my track bike gonna pick her up on tuesday put new brakes on new fluid and i'll be able to stop again yeaaaa :crash:

because i'm such a kick-ass friend, i ran up to PIR on my lunch break to see the guys... didnt get to see any of them riding, but got to hang out and watch some of the licensed racers do some laps. wish i could have hung out longer, but traffic was a mess. hope everyone makes it home safe tonight (or tomorrow) and i'll see ya'll soon!!

What a rush!!!!! I had a blast. Gonna try like mad to do the 20th Motocorsa day. I owe a HUGE thanks to Mike (Flyte Risk). He took the day off to come out and help any way he could, and brought a cooler full of drinks and food for us. You are the man!!!!! And thanks to Eric and Tom for all the advice and support throughout the day! I kinda felt a little over my head at times(those guys are freakin fast), but I think a couple of days in a C-group will fix that. Still the most fun you can have on 2 wheels without getting a ticket:yes: I'm addicted. Now I just have to get more confidence out there. It's kinda nerve-wracking to be doing 150 mph down the front straight, and getting passed like you are parked:eek:
