did 75 miles of forest service roads up and around(and around some more) the back way to loon lake. bear creek, camp creek and others. zero traffic :clapping: . the foxglove is in bloom and there are fields and fieds of it thoughout. had a crappy burger at the lodge, passed three sports on the way down.anyways.. 6 and a half hours and only 119+ miles.. i coulda rode to pdx but woulda missed the flowers. nice and cool up there:yes: . not near as clean as the alsea falls or rock creek roads but ok still... :ride: em if you got em!!! oo, didnt see one dang animal. two piles of bear scat and a dead coon though...:idunno:
next time...

cool  . if you stay on the main roads, they are fine. its on the side roads where it starts getting a bit rough. there are a few spots of gravel patch as well. you cant really get lost up there. all those roads come out some place. the roads are marked better than most of the other forest service roads ive been on. start on full and its fine. most all the rough spots were marked for repair so there was a bit of warning.. im pretty sure you can go all the way to the coast but there is a stretch that isnt paved yet.. its been a while since i did that one. anyways.. i was surprized that there wasnt anyone else coming up or down those roads. besides the usual folks down at the bottom near the creeks, not one!! and now that i think about it, thats the first time its been that way. i love the out of the way roads. they are usually a new ride each time unlike the majority of highways and byways. whats your favorite forest service road??
