So I Buy A 2006 Honda Vfr Interceptor, And Only 1900 Miles Into Riding My Beautifull Bike, The Clutch Goes Out. And I Dont Mean Just Going Out, It Was Shreaded When We Pulled It Outta Its Little Housing. Thanks To Chris And The Guys At Cycle Sports For Helping To Get Me Back On The Road.. Ok Now Back To The Issue Of The Clutch, When The Service Dept. Called Honda To Have The Clutch Replaced Under Warrenty, The Ass On The Other End Of The Phone Would'nt Even Give Them A Claim Number. He Just Told The Service Guys That Nope Its A Wear And Tear Item.... And Its A Waist Of My Time To Even Write A Claim Up For It. Ok There's Some Good Customer Service For Ya. Lets See Here So What Your Telling Me Is That A Clutch Goes Out On Honda Around 1900 Miles? Yeah Right.. Well All I Can Say Is That Ive Been Riding For Along Time And Ive Never Had Issues With A Clutch After Such A Short Time Of Owning A Bike.. Here's The Kicker The Clutch Was Instaled Dry, Yeah I Said Dry.. So I Think Im Gonna Fight Honda... Who Thinks I'll Win And Maybe Get My 200 Bucks Back From The Outta Pocketing For The New Clutch? Well If You Have Any Good Ideas On How To Approach This Let Me Know K. Thanks All, And Dont Get The Extended Warrenty They Dont Help Ya Anyways.. From Me

As I understand it, if the wear is anything less than obviously "natural," the company has to prove that they are not at fault. The only comparison that I can think of is that if you install after-market acc. in your car or on your bike and something breaks as a result the company has to prove that the failure is a direct result of the installation of the after-market acc. In other words without inspecting the clutch in-house (sending it in to honda and having them check it out) they can not deny your claim.

Stay after them man, eventually they will pay you to go away! :blah-blah

i agree. If the OEM Techs there at Cycle Sports gave their professional opinion that the cluch was installed incorrectly at the manufacturer level, then that should carry some weight. Get a letter from chris at cycle sports concerning this, send a copy of it along with your complaint to the warrantee department, and see what they can do from there. good luck.
