There was a high-speed police chase last night down by the Dutch Bros. coffee shop, after almost everyone left.
A Yellow "unidentified" sport bike was chased from 30th Ave. around and through town and back to the I5 on-ramp at Franklin. Police discontinued their chase at that point; because the rider was behaving too erratically (I believe that the police made a difficult, but correct decision in this case.) As we stood in the Dutch Bros. parking lot, the bike flew down the street at around 80-90mph and the cop cars that followed 30 sec. behind were doing about 65-70.
The cops tried to blame some of us but Dan, the coffee shop guy, told the cops that we had been there for a long time. (He was the hero of the night) Because Gram, silver/red 636 ninja, had been running his bike to warm it up right until the cops came, so they were feeling his bike and trying to point some fingers. After all was said and done the cops took off and all of us made it home without incident.
But just as a warning: if you are riding any yellow spot bike be on your best behavior, because the cops are going to be out in force to try and track this guy down.
Lastly, if you know or think that you know this riding, please keep it to yourself because I don't want anyone to think that we associate with, nor condone the actions of, people that act like this.
