The Crater Lake Ride was so nice today! The weather was totally cooperative, the roads clean and mostly traffic free, the company impeccable. Vinny , Ellie,
Jeff, and myself(Paul) went. It was basically a full day of riding. We all rode to Crater Lake, and when we finally reached the Crater Lake Lodge, Jeff and I headed back home via 138 and then cut off at Steamboat. We rode over to Sharps Creek road and then around Dorena and back to Eugene. WOW!!!!!!!
Her are a few of the 225 photos I took.

That would be cool, Edwin. It was Vinnie's first glimpse of the lake, and he was blown away. The ride there on North Bank Road, and Hwy 138 was just about as nice.

We're back now! That was one of the best rides I can remember. We had so much fun, and the pictures Paul took were phenomenal. Yes, Crater Lake was one amzing experience. The whole trip was a constant internal struggle; ride hard, or take in the scenery. The scenery won on rim road. Thanks again Paul and Jeff. We'll be posting our pics soon. Vin and El

I'm jealous. Those of us who didn't go should plan a trip there this summer. We're running out of time. So, hurry!

Here are some of the ones we took. Sorry files were a little big, but our camera didn' have quite the res that Pauls did. Also, the hotel we stayed in was great inexpensive and super awesome. Vin and El.

Good Photos Vin! Thanks for posting those up. How was the next day? Did the weather hold? Our trip back over from Steamboat to Cottage Grove was very,
shall I say, Exhilarating! That road is about 12-15 feet wide most of the way to Sharps Creek where it finally widens to two lanes with actual lines , and roadside vegetation grows into the road in many spots.Met a F350 Diesel
on one corner, and was very glad that I was hugging the right side of the road.

I would be up to go again as long as it is a weekend day. I think that I have used up most of my vacation days that I had left until next June. I go at least twice a year if possible, and never get tired of the ride.

The weather continued to be great. We decided to take the 97 and 58 back because neither of us had ever taken 97. That was a big mistake. What a crappy road for bikes. Not a turn for like 70 miles or somethin. But then again, there is something satisfying about passing all those cars. We stopped at Willamette pass and took the tram. Warm everywhere.
Glad to hear you're not a hood ornament for that truck. Wolf creek is bad like that. I stopped riding over the lines becuase of that exact same thing. We'll ride again. Talk to ya later!
