This very unfortunate accident happened today at about 2pm on Siuslaw River Rd at about milepost 38. A deer came out of nowhere , and Travis hit it squarely on his 636. The deer did not fare as well as Travis did. Luckily Travis was not hurt too severely, although I did not hear what the final verdict was after he got an ambulance ride to the hospital. I am very glad that Travis was not hurt worse. Apparently any of us could hit a deer, even at time of the day when we least expect it. Here are some photos. The deer ones are kinda grisly.

Has anyone heard how Travis is doing today? I still can't believe that the damn deers small intestines were off one side of the road and its large ones were clear across on the other...never seen anything like that in my life... Semi's do less damage to them when they hit them on the freeway! He's got to be one sore boy today...ouch.

Semi's turn them into deerburger. Sportbikes are more surgical.

Looks like the Guinsu model 636 fared well considering.

Thank you for the update!!! I've been worried, but I didn't know how to get ahold of him. I bet he is sore! He is so lucky to be here to feel all that soreness. I am amazed he isn't hurt alot worse. I'm glad that nothing else really serious came up after he left in the ambulance. :on-crutchHe took a big thump to the noggin for sure.... and other things.... :nutkick OUCH!

Travis, did the insurance consider the 636 totalled? Never di hear anything about the bike since the 12th. How are you doing ? Everything mending?

Travis, glad to hear you're ok! That could've been MUCH worse! Crystal told us about it last night when she came over to babysit. The timing for this stinks; I finally got another bike and was looking forward to us going riding. Get yourself healed up and get another ride and we'll go!
