Great run, I highly recommend it this time of year. Alsea has had some construction with culverts going in like the Aufder, but they are all patched up. a little dirt in a few corners, nothing major or worth fretting about. Mary's peak has been covered in fog and clouds off and on for over a week, so watch for wet spots near the top, as well as the section of gravel they have not yet paved which is about a little over half way up and about 20 yards of road (thanks Mr. Green). all in all another great run up yesterday. best time to run is midday with no tinted visor unless it's overcast, due to the shadows on Alsea, and in the middle of the week because of the campers out Alsea falls.

let me know when that clears up a little. I'll come up for another run at it.

We did Alsea Saturday and got behind about 50 cars and white-hairs in an Alpha Romeo car club... they are required (club rules) to go 5 miles BELOW the speed limit. They didn't really want to let us pass either. :bash: I think it would have been a great ride if we hadn't been going sooooooo freaking slow. The pavement was pretty much gravel free.

Hey look!! It's an Alpha Romeo. LOL Even with the car club it was a cool ride though. Pulling the front tire off the ground while passing four or five Alphas at a time was pretty sweet. :) Even if it was unintentional. And that guy from the club who was lost and stopped on Lobster Valley road to talk with us was pretty cool about things. Especially when he said he was going to tell the rest of the club that they p!$$&d off a couple of sport bike riders. HAHAHA

It has been that way for 6 years now and counting. The biggest thing to look for is wet pavement with pine needles and a couple of nasty frost heaves in 2 of the corners about 5-6miles up.

I surely would have binned it on the gravel trap.
