I usually ride Fox Hollow Road around 11 am going to work and have found alot more deer on the sides of the road earlier in the year. The deer around the butte tend to be not as scared of bikes but the ones down in the valley part of the road are VERY scared and will jump in front of you. Well, with that said I was going to work the other day and saw a dead fox and a dead deer along the road. I slowed down because of the car in front of me was as well as the car in the other lane. I'm thinking great we'll just cruise along at 25mph the whole way. Well, just then one of the not so scared deers jumps across the road when we were doing 25mph and all of hit the brakes. Everyones ok. But it made me think twice about them not so scared deer out there on Fox Hollow Road. And don't forget about the flock of wild turkeys too.

...And don't forget about the flock of wild turkeys too...
:censored: THOSE LITTLE BASTERDS! I would feel bad about hunting any animal, except for them. Those little :censored:'ers will take up the WHOLE road in seconds. :yell: :crash:

As for the "fearless" dear, it has been my experience that they will judge your speed and jump if you slow down. They seem to wait till someone acts like they will let them cross, and then they will cross. I don't slow down, and they don't cross. It has worked so far. (KNOCK ON WOOD) :idunno:

Just one more reason to never let your guard down. :shifty:

Perhaps they're more skittish because it's hunting season. I had a buck run out in front of me in eastern OR near Antelope last Friday in broad daylight. It was running from something. Again today.... Seems like more than usual.
