Hey guys and gals-
So, what does the forum say about running ethinol instead of gasoline in my newer sports bike? I've been talking with this dude and here is the e-mail he sent me....

Hi Kaylon!

Ethanol does not damage the engine or any components even over time.
See
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuOs1yap8mU. I have been running E85 in
my
Triumph and there are no issues.

Suzuki could have either Nippon Denso or Bosch connectors. You will
have to
check prior to ordering. We have been selling tons of these kits to
motorcycle owners in France. The price of E85 is 3 euros less per
gallon
than gas.

B (davidv@change2E85.comB)asically, I want to give it a shot because in part to be more "friendly" but my real reason is much more greedy.....I want the 105 octane at a price that is less then super per gallon (they sell the stuff out at Sequential). So, what are the opinions/ anybody doing this? The guys at Ramsey had never heard of anybody doing the conversion (no surprise - friggin' idiots I tell you!) Thanks.......

Uh yeah....

There will be no savings since you burn almost twice as much and it will cut your range to the 125 mile-per-tank area.... There is a reason that it hasn't caught on more then it has.

AS I understand, E85 is better for the engine and the environment, but as Flyte pointed out the actual MPG drops. Given our bikes put out a lot less emissions than cars anyway, I'm not sure I see the point - especially if you have to buy a kit, which kinda defeats the $$ incentive...

I actually talked to the the guys from sequential at a car show at the fair grounds. they admitted that mileage will suffer, and that it is based purley on trying to do something more eco friendly. Personally, I would do a little more research into this before I try it. Some bike like mine acutally make more horses on lower octane fuels due to the compression ratio. Here (http://www.rc51.org/fuel.htm) is some good reading for you on the subject of fuels. mostly this applys to my bike, and RC51, but the principles are the same and check out the third paragraph.

Nice guys...this is why I asked the people in the "know". Thanks for the inputs.

I work for Kendall dodge in Cottage Grove and the vehicals that can run both unleaded and E85, when E85 is used the milage drops by 10 miles to a gallon. That is no ****, we have tested it. And E85 is really no cheaper the regular unleaded.
