Don't miss this ride becuase it's going to be phenomenal! Hope all can make it.

We will meet at 10am at the 76 station located on the NW corner of Gateway and Beltline. Then we head to Coburg rd, up McKenzie View Drive and continue on along Camp Creek which will poop us out onto 126. We then cruise up 126 until we are 7 miles past the town of McKenzie Bridge where we will turn right onto 242. Then basically it's a straight shot (snicker, chuckle, lmao) to Sisters!

The roads leading to 242 are all good and relatively fast, with lots of 30-45 mph posted curves. 242 however is very tight and twisty with lots of switchbacks and legitimate 15's. (Think ridiculous lean angle at low speeds!) See Paul's post for more info http://www.eugenesportbike.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1290&page=2&pp=10
Despite the road being somewhat technical, it is one of the most beautiful roads I ever remember, and we'll probably stop along some of the lookouts to see the lava fields. Please don't be intimidated, there will be plenty of us taking it slow and easy.

We'll eat lunch when we get to Sisters; I think Ellie and I are planning to eat at this Italian place on the SE end of town, but there are many good places to choose from. We might also want to hit the ice cream shop. Beer is on me, but I only have one dollar so you'll all have to share it.

Any suggestions please PM me! I'm really looking forward to this. Thanks everybody. -V

Not able to go but the steak house next to the grocery store isn't half bad. Nice outside dining. As of 2 years ago that is.

I recieved some really good suggestions about the planned route and meeting time so I have edited the original to reflect the new information. Basically, meeting at 10am instead of 11, at the Gateway 76 instead of Shell by LCC, and going out Mckenzie View and Camp Creek instead of through town. Excellent! Buck up lil beavers this is gonna one cokin' and jokin' good time! Sorry you can't make it Edwin and Keshtie. -V

Assuming a 10:30 departure and an hour for lunch, you should be back between 3 & 4. It's about 2 hours to Sisters via 242.

I'm going to get some Mar Far chicken right now. Thank you for not saying beaver! Also, I think that you should come Jennifer. Ellie is the only female commited so far, and you could round out the gender ratio. Okay, chickens ready gotta go! Vin

I'm in; that is if it isn't supposed to rain. Yes, that's right; I'm an Oregon-born dry-weather sissy boy; it's because of all the time I lived in CA, where we rode 10 months out the year and I got spoiled. I still wouldn't go back, though! 10 a.m. at the Union 76 at Gateway, right? Please post if anything changes. Thanks! Looking forward to it! :ride: Rick

That's great Rick, look forward to meeting you. Oh yeah, if it rains I'm not going either. I'm definately a dry weather rider, cold is okay, but it's supposed to be dry and 80 so we should be good to go. See you Saturday.

i'm definitely down for this ride... i'll try my damndest to be there... 76 @ gateway @ 10am? i hit that road last year on the ninja, but havent been on it on the duc yet... will we be taking 126 home? i'm not a huge fan of 242 going downhill... too tight for my heavy-ass bike. i'm supposed to start moving this weekend... but that can be put on hold a day, right?

hope to see a lot of you there!!!!! tom, are you going? you keep posting, but it has nothing to do with whether or not you're coming...

If I don't show up it's 'cause my friend called today and is supposed to come over early Sat. morning and help me hang the #(&^ing heavy sliding door on my shop; gotta take the help when I can get it. Shouldn't take too long, though; I might still be able to meet up with you guys. If not, I plan on taking a blast out hwy 36 Sun. afternoon. Ride safe! :bash:

Xusia

We prob won't leave until 10:30, and even then I doubt it will be fast - you can always catch up. Or you could just meet us in Sisters by taking 126 all the way (it's faster).

Well, said friend called this afternoon, said he'd come over later this afternoon and help me hang the door. Called back a little later and said can't make it, call ya later. No call tonight so I assume he's not coming, which means I'm going riding. It's a good thing he's my best friend since high school or I'd be getting annoyed with him by now. See you at the 76! :hump :idunno:

I was so excited I could barely sleep. I've been waiting to do this road since I got my bike last March. I even woke up without the alarm and I only do that for snowboarding or Christmas presents. See ya'll in about an hour! -V
