:help2: A VERY GOOD FRIEND AND RIDER HAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT TONIGHT AND WE NEED YOUR HELP.

JOSH SPARKS SOUTHWORTH, TOOK A PRETTY HARD FALL ON HIS BIKE TONIGHT AND DISLOCATED HIS INTIRE LOWER LEG RIGHT AT THE KNEE. HIS BIKE GOT OUTTA CONTROL AND SLAMMED INTO A CURB, FLINGING HIM INTO A TREE AND A FENCE. HE WILL HAVE TO UNDERGO SURGERY, THE TENDENS AND NERVES ARE ALL TWISTED UP.... IT WILL BE A LONG RECOVERY FOR SURE. IT SOUNDS LIKE HE'S GONNA NEED SOME REHABILITATION AND HEALING TIME FROM WHAT THE DOCTORS AT THE HOSPITOL SAID. THE XRAY TEC OF TWENTY TWO YEARS SAID IT WAS THE WORST HE'S EVER SEEN. SO YOU CAN SEE WHY JOSH MIGHT NEED YOUR HELP. IF YOU ARE A RIDER AND EVEN IF YOUR NOT, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THAT WE ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER AND THAT'S WHAT BINDS US TOGETHER AS RIDERS AND AS FRIENDS. WE ARE GOING TO BE DOING SOME FUND RAISING TO HELP OUT WITH BILLS. HE HAS GOOD INSURANCE BUT THAT DOENST COVER NOT BEING OFF WORK. ASMUCH AS IT IS NO ONES FAULT BUT HIS OWN FOR THE SITUATION HE IS IN, I KNOW JOSH WELL ENOUGH TO KOW HE WOULD BE THERE FOR ANYONE OF US....THATS JUST THE KIND OF GUY HE IS.

IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU CAN HELP JOSH OUT IN ANY WAY PLEASE CONTACT MYSELF OR RON AT THE PHONE NUMBERS LISTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT STAYED AND ASSISTED IN JOSH'S AID AND TO THOSE WHO CAME TO THE ER TO SEE HOW HE WAS. YOUR ALL GOOD FRIENDS. THERE WILL BE UPDATES AS TO JOSH'S CONDITION AND IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT HE MIGHT NEED. THANKS AGAIN. RIDE SAFE

Thanks for posting that update and suggestion Ron and Big Mike. I was speaking to a few of the other riders after Josh's crash last night, and the idea of an injured riders fund was brought up. From what I understand there are a couple of the other boards that do this for the riders. What a great idea! I would like to speak to the administrators of the other boards to see how they have theirs set up and plan on doing that today.

Josh, if you get a chance to read this, hope your recovery is quick and as relitively painfree as possible. We are all thinking about ya.

Be sure to post up from time to time to let us know how you are doing.

Maybe we could do a fund-raiser on a bike night? ...a bike wash or poker run or something? I think it's a good idea that we all get together and help out. It could be any one of us down at any time. God knows why I am still alive and last night was a reminder of how lucky I am too even be around to ride again. Count me in on helping out!

Josh...if you are on this forum.. I hope you heal fast and as pain free as possible. Crashing SUCKS!!!

I'm out of town all weekend so I can't go visit him at the hospital any time soon. I was there until the ambulance arrived and then left to let them do their thing. He was in major pain but was a trooper through it all. I was there holding his hand while you guys were taking his boot off and he was hurting. I'm glad it wasn't worse, but also sad to hear it's pretty bad. Since we already meet at Papa's and they are great with fundraiser we should plan a weekend meet there or something for a fundraiser.

Also how's his girlfriend doing? She was pretty upset last night but seemed to be doing better by the time I was leaving.

:mecry:damn man. I didn't see it happen but when i seen him laying there not getting up i knew was hurt bad. I ran up to make sure he was atleast awake and breathing i then knew he was going to be ok. Hope your recovery goes well. Me and sam are willing to help in any way we can. I think a bike wash or poker run would be very kewl.

we should also get an event for Jane Honda as well. If we bike wash this dosen't nessessarily have to be just bikes i wouldnt think. I would run home and get the car, it needs a good bath to.
