No Edwin, we should not try that! But then again, I remember those yz50's from back in the day, and they would go like 60 and could be made street legal. On the other other hand, those things may be the only way some of us are ever gonna do knee downs around a corner.

That's just silly. I can't condone that.

I can not imagine what you would say to the 5-0 if they pulled you over doing that! That is if you were not killed passing on blind corners.

BUT, having about five of these and a big empty parkinglot would be more fun than a barrel of Edwin's!

It does look like a fun, stupid thing to do. Vinnie, you mentioned the yz50's but did you mean the ysr50? The guy I used to tune for had one with a YZ80 motor in it that he used to train on for 250 racing. We'd take it to an as unused cul-de-sac in an industrial park and set up some cones to form an uneven figure 8. He'd practice pitching the thing over onto his knee with the brakes on, then pick it up with the throttle just before the front slid out. He would then proceed to get it crossed up coming off the turn with the throttle. It was hilarious to watch, and I even tried it a couple of times. I crashed my &@# off with it, though, and from then on stuck to tuning.

In that case, 10 deep with the throttles pinned.
A couple of guys at work used to run them in the parking lot, until there was this "incident" involving a pocket bike, a car bumper edge, and a knee surgery. They have been banned in the parking lot since.

I have one. They are wicked fun, AND from what I understand street legal - they are considered a powered bicycle or some crazy thing like that. Maybe Mike knows more?!?
Any 2 stroke experts? I could use a hand fixing an issue with it!

My friend has one, and it has been living in garage for the past 2 years or more. They are a lot of fun if you have somewhere to run them. They are fixed frame, no suspension, so they don't like bumps of any kind. They are louder than a weedeater so your neighbors may or may not take offense. I have run it around on the street to a limited extent, but they are not legal to run on the road. There is an Oregon law that directly addresses their use on public roadways and bike paths. They are even referenced in the law as "pocketbikes" with a physical description, just so no one can try to get around the ban. The reason they are not allowed is because you are so low to the ground that you are almost invisible, and the sound thing doesn't help matters. :idunno:

Yeah, maybe it was a ysr 50. All I remember, and this was many spells of uconciousness ago, in like 1990, was that a dude at my High School had one. It was like 2 feet tall, pretty fast for a 50cc, and it had a license plate and he rode it on the street. Also, it looked like an old school FZR with the red and white paint scheme. I've not seen one since. Sounds like a job for GOOGLEMAN! -V PS, I don't believe this is the same as those pocket bikes that can be bought at Harbor Freight for $50. LOL. -V

I'm pretty sure you're describing a YSR 50: http://www.ysr50.com/web/
