This may not pan our for motorcycle helmets, but it's interesting.

Pretty interesting. I wonder how well that would work for our types of accidents.

Helmets have come a long way but there will always be room for improvements. At least there's still innovative research going on.

All you have to do to see how things are continuing to change is take a look at the interior foam of a Shark helmet. using longitudinal strakes in the foam for ventilation resulted in a vastly different crush characteristic, which in turn makes the helmet have one of the highest survival ratings possible for impact _exactly_ where over 70% of motorcyclists whack their noggin.

Sometimes what you think you're working towards, isn't what you get.
