Eric and I are headed to PIR on Sunday. Get to try the new pavement. They are running cars on the same day with the bikes, it will be interesting. Later Joe Joe

Hmmm..... Same day or same time? The latter would be REALLY interesting. Wish I could go to the track instead of standing around watching these machines try to destroy themselves and each other.....:bash: :bash: :bash:

Work; a necessary evil!

If the girlfriend wasn't in town and I wasn't headed to Cali. in 7 hours, I would be there for sure, either running the car or the bike, or both. :smilewink

A few of my homies will be running cars on Sunday. Keep an eye out for my homie Pong. He's a little asian guy running a red S2000 with a big CF wing on the back. He will be the one putting the Porsche drivers to shame. :nutkick

Have a great time Eric and Joe Joe. Be safe, and be sure to let us know what you think of the new track! :victory-s

Let's see.

Excuse me while I low side in front of a speeding vette... nope, I didn't think he had the brakes to be able to avoid my leather clad a$$ damn it! Oh well, a few extra broken bones and some internal bleeding never hurt anyone, right? It's better then being stuffed by that porsche that didn't know I was on his inside quarter panel under braking when he panicked and turned in to early.

FYI, it's same day, not at the same time.

Surface report!

I did the "Tour laps @ Parade pace"... Yeah right! Parade pace was 60 on the straights and gas the crap outta the bike in the turns....

The new surface is SWEET! T4 is a bit discouraging with some dust/dry dirt on the track but the surface is glass smooth and seems to stick pretty dam good. Just playing around on the track today was enough to ruin riding on the street for awhile.

Well the new surface is good. Very smooth and plenty of grip. The first session was a wet one and no one went down. I was on DOT for the day and did not even feel the bike slip in the wet. When the track dried out, that was a different story. You can brake sooo much later with the grip the surface gave. Cornering speed is also up. I felt like I was going along at a pretty good clip but still needed to shave 3 seconds off my time. I was running 1:22 / 1:27 before the new surface, now I was in the 1:30 / 1:34 Don't know if stopping in 4, the longer and wider turn 3 and additional braking in 7 added to the time. Will see. I must say, if you have not tried a trackday, sign up and go.... Make sure you sign up for the new rider school. It will save you some confusion out on the track.

apex late WAY LATE and WFO for 5 and 6. If anyone tries to sack you by diving in earlier your set to go right back around in 5 and they won't catch you since you started your drive to the back stretch earlier.
