Anyone help me get on the road?!???

I just picked up a 1986 FZ750 Genesis, and am looking to get it running by spring. Instead of getting raped by a in house mechanic, I'd like to hopefully do a trade or partial trade for some tattoo work...I'll buy the parts, I just need some help getting it going. The guy before me said it wasn't getting spark and it had a fuel delivery problem (the fuel pump turned on, but nothing was getting to the carbs...gummed up?)

check fuel filter. if theres gas getting to it and/or passed it then i would check the lines for clog. but first i would remove/replace the fuel filter. to check spark, just pull a plug out with the boot still on it and try to crank it there should be spark jumping across the ignitor end of it. I dont keep up on to many post that i reply to so maybe pm me for further assistance.
