I have SMX-3's, and I love 'emhttp://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/thumbup.gif Never bought an A* product I didn't like. They seem to run pretty true to size too.

Hey, Jane; how does that size compare to US sizes? I need a new (or better)pair bad!

On the size chart thingie, it says about 11 to 11 1/2.

They have only been on about 4 or 5 rides, and not even broken in yet.

Ok, scratch that. The euro size converters are never the same. I got another one that said 10 to 10 1/2.

So, they are size 44 Euro.

The Velcro/zipper sides made them kind of cumbersome to get on and off . The SMX PLUS felt like they molded to my foot. I’m going to have to hold out dang it …….Thanks for the offer.:) The euro size I tried was 44 = size 9.5us

Ok, that sounds a little better than 10 or 11.

I still want to sell my boots.

I have the S-MX Plus and they are a great overall. I liked the S-MX's just a bit better ON the bike, but he S-MX Plus better OFF the bike. Both offer the same level of protection to your foot. Oh yeah, the Plus' are much hotter, which isn't so good.

How is the inside/removable bootie on the Plus? I heard that they can be kind of a pain? I'm looking for some new boots too...

I ended up with the Alpinestars s-mx plus. May be a little over the top for me. I don’t pound the pavement on every corner or have the experience to do so. I now feel a little more comfortable knowing I've stepped up a level on protecting myself. So far they are a little bulky but I will get used to it.

How is the inside/removable bootie on the Plus? I heard that they can be kind of a pain? I'm looking for some new boots too...The inner boot makes wearing them more comfortable, but because it's a bit more snug it also reduces freedom of movement (which for me, made them more difficult to use while riding). If I had to buy again, I probably would go with just the plain SM-X because I prefer unhampered operation of the bike to walking comfort. I don't think the addition of the inner boot really makes a lot of difference in a crash. Unforutnately, I have crashed in both. Fortunately, the level of protection on each was very high and I was completely unhurt.

I tried the SM-X Plus and couldn't get them zipped with the inner boot and the leathers inside... got a pair of SM-X on the way now to try... I've had the darndest time getting any gear that fits with all the screwy sizes. :bash:

Kris, the boots are awesome; thanks! I wanted to wear them to bed but the wife said it was either them or the Viking helmet, she wouldn't allow both, so I gave the helmet a rest.
