So I called the local cycle shop to schedule my 4000 maintenance. Saturday was going to work best for me. They tell me they don’t take Saturday appointment weekdays only?? Confused I ask why. I was told Saturdays are for walk-ins only. If someone has an issue that’s riding thru town they can get service. First come first serve. The person on the phone stated if I needed Saturday I better arrive early in hopes of getting service. I purchased the bike from this dealer with a two year service agreement. No financing wrote a check for the entire purchase. I was put off by the attitude I was given over the phone. Granted the person on the other end didn’t know me from a hill of beans. Is this typical for cycle shops to offer this type of service arrangements?

First, let me congratulate you on not naming names. Some of us might think we already know which shop you're dealing with though.

In my 25+ years of riding, I can't say this is normal behavior. :wtf: :frown: :frown: :wtf: :frown: :wtf:

I'd be double P.O.'d and letting the management and Honda know what I think of this policy. This is showing you no respect as a customer.
They must really prey on the unsuspecting ridiers that need thier help on the weekends. Probably special rates for drop ins..........?

Hope you can get this cleared up. Find out what other dealers will honor your warranty work. :idunno:

I have had nothing but a positive experience each time I have been to the store. I figure one bad experience shouldn’t spoil all the positives I've had. Before I purchased my bike people gave warning and even looked in to another dealer out of town. I formed my own unbiased opinion and decided to stay loyal to a local business. If I receive poor service again, my next bike will be from a different dealer. The guy on the phone just seemed to have a no care attitude. I will just pass my experience along to management and let it be.

Will, I have never purchased a bike from the dealer in question, but have purchased parts/accessories in the past, with mixed results. Overall I would rate my own experiences above average, so I would give a passing grade to the parts dept. I too have received the word-of-mouth warnings about them. I have had friends who had some negative experience with them, and some with relatively positive experiences. So I applaud you on building your own opinion, rather than simply listening to the masses.

With that said, Will, please keep us posted on your future experiences, and let the management know that we are all depending on your experiences to guide our perception of the kind of business this really is.

Just to bring this thread back on point, he did mention that he has a serivce contract with this dealer. So he really can only go to this dealer until the contract is up, otherwise he is throwing away a big chunk of change.

Stopped by the dealer today at noon to see if I could get my service done will I wait. They had time to get me in as the rush was over. I didn’t mention my previous issue just let it go for now. Another year left on the 2 year service. I will be going to cycle parts after my contract runs out. With Clint being highly recommended as well as Cycle Parts it makes me wonder are they on this board? Just curious.

If I receive poor service again, my next bike will be from a different dealer.Unfortunately, in a year's time it's unlikely there will still be anyone left there who would remember you or your issue...
