I just found out through a little research that the guy that owned the bike before me put carbs on the bike that are for a 1991 FZR600. Will these work on my 86 fz750, you think? They are 52mm, which is the same size as the ones for an 1986 FZ750, but the setup is different...what do you think? I need to know in case I need to buy a different set of carbs or buy the replacement gaskets and o-rings for these...

id think that if they were put on and it ran then you should be ok. i mean, why would someone put the wrong set up on the bike especially if they wanted to ride it? stranger things have happened but... id go into the fiche and see exactly how they are different. did the bike ever run like it is with the different carbs on it? id say that with my ZERO(well one and a half percent) carb experience that 72.9% itll run and be fine. 27.1% that some time down the line there might be some type of issue. good luck!!!

I have a feeling that the guy before me scavenged parts off of a fzr600 and thought that since the original carbs were missing that any old carbs would work as long as they were from a yamaha (later gen or not). The first sign that something was amiss was when I went to put the original air filter on and it didnt line up right with the carbs. The spacing was off by about a half inch. The carbs on it are smaller (older carbs came out wider at first)...this was before I checked the yamaha fiche and came to the top conclusion that all he did was put any missing parts on that were meant to go on the fzr. I may end up having to replace the radiator as well, due to this ****heads' ignorance towards bikes.
