Ah, best leave this one alone. As the name implies it runs between Alsea and Deadwood (hwy 36). After conferring with the locals and being assured that it was paved the entire way I decided to give it a go. Well, it was paved, but then again, so are a lot of cart paths. There was a lot of this road up in the higher elevations that wasn't much wider than a cart path as well. It also turned to gravel for about 5 miles about 6 miles above Deadwood, so the joke was on me.
Did I mention how rough and bumpy it was as well?:nutkick

I haven't been on that road yet, but if I have my facts straight, the gravel part is really a detour around a washout.

interseting.. it was paved up and over when i did it second. the first time was 14 miles of gravel. about half way i wanted to turn around but decided to stick with it. wasnt too bad really. anyways.. the washout thing sounds like it could be.

Kinda why I've got the CapoNord. I like those kind of roads!! No traffic, and killer views
