Well had fun Saturday. The weather was good and many stopped by to
say HI. Thanks to all that came over and showed support. Practice
sucked, as usual. Race one was OK, I came in 6th, behind Eric of
course. I must say he gets pissed when you pass him. I got him two
times and he in the following corner he just out pulled me from the
corner. (Did I hear gearing) His bike has the pull, but I can out
brake him. We had a blast changing positions through the race.....
The second one was not so good. I was P-D1 and was behind Eric.
When the flag dropped we made a mad dash for turn one. I went
through good and negotiated turns 2 and 3. That's when things got
crowded. Well as I was entering 4, I saw the leader high side as he
was exiting 4. I had two bikes in front of me and they checked up.
Of course I did as well. When I checked, I felt a bump from behind.
I continued on, passed the down rider and went to re-grid. After
stopping at the grid for a 5 min clean up, I realized Christine was
not on the grid. We all were talking to each other I was told she
went down in four. I felt bad, because I checked up and she caught
my rear tire. Later she said she did not see the high-side, because
she was just coming into four and had not started looking through the
corner yet. She was OK, just bruised.
Well after the drama, we got off to a good start I came out in eighth
and after passing a couple I ended up in 5th at the end. If you take
away the two super bikes that were in front of me (NV5 riders) at
the time and grid in front as well, then I came in third. Eric was
fourth, he was right behind me trying to catch up. The time
difference between 3rd 4th and 5th was in the tenths of a second. We
fought back and fourth for the entire race. two 600 and a 750, it was
Cool.
Today I worked a corner at the track. I found out the corner
workers, who are just old farts that volunteer, call the 600 class
Super Stupids They think all 600 riders are out of their minds and
do the most stupid stuff they had ever seen. I cant agree more.....
