Well another race weekend has came and gone. This weekend was not so good for the G-man. First of all, I introduced a friend to track days and got another unsuspected person hooked. Just like they say, one at a time. I was finally able to talk Batman (Zack) into a track day. We traveled Thursday to Portland and got ready for the day. In the morning the weather was not cooperating, but we still had fun. Zack was nothing but a bundle on nerves before the day started, but after he hit the track he had a blast.

He enjoyed himself, and ran some good times, 1:25, for his best, now that's very respectable for a first timer on the track and in semi-dry conditions.

Well we had fun at the tack day and went back to the hotel to get ready for the race day. After a couple of beers, I was trashed...I wont say how many I had, but I was having fun.

The next day was the race. Got to the track and ran first practice. Things went well, but the weather was a little cold and it took time for the tires to warm. I skipped second practice, due to the night before, and slept until the first race. I gridded in E-4 I was the twentieth bike on the grid. When the flag dropped, I got a good start and ended somewhere toward the front. We ran three and 1/2 laps until the red came out. They call the race complete, I don't know if it was because of an injury or track clean up, but anyhow, I finished 6th in the first one.

Now comes the second race. Again I was twentieth on the grid and when the flag dropped I got a bad start. I don't know how many were in front of me, but I can say I was passed buy three riders and I passed three toward the end. I finished 16th. I could have been farther up, but there were a couple of riders that had the HP to out pull me, but I could out brake them, The thing that stopped me was their lines were so inconsistent. I would follow one and see their line, only to have them change the line again the next time around. After almost being taken out in turn four, because of an inconsistent line. I decided just to hang back and enjoy the rest of the ride, Running 1:23. The Bike ran good and I wish I would of had a better start, but that's racing and I had fun anyway. Next race September 21. See you then. Later

Honestly? Makes the list of top 5 greatest experiences of my life. Addicted? oh yea. I'm gonna have to ditch every other hobby, and un-necessary expense in my life in order to finance this new addiction too.
Thanks Joe Joe! :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :phatyo:

I really did learn a lot though, Faith in my bike being at the top of the list. I have a lot better perception now of what both my machine and myself are capable of.

It was really cool being able to watch the races and meet the racers too. I learned a lot about racing, off of the track as well. You know, engine components, suspension, tires/pressure, race classes, etc. Oh, and I learned how damned expensive it is:yell: !!!

On a side note, I went for a ride yesterday after I got all my lights plugged back in and mirrors replaced. It was kind of scary. I forgot (over the course of the weekend) that you find surface changes, and crap in the middle of the street!!! Nothing really mentionable, just that I forgot how many more variables there are on the street.

So more track days ahead? oh yea. Trackbike in my future? Oh yea. Novice license next year?:bounce: it all depends on the Benjamins!!!!

oh, I wont tell you how many Beers JJ had, but why dont you ask him if he wants to play a game!
