I'll be having one again this year  ... I better start planning it soon though because I think all of August is booked for me already :wow8: . I think it went better to have it before going on a ride, or not attached to a ride at all... after the one two years ago (after riding Aufderheide) and having two people go down. :crash:

We just did one up here last Sat at my house.
We did it as more of a "Bring the family" event so not too many rode. Overall I'd say that was the way so spouses could meet those we talk about when we return from rides.
Depending on the menu I may be able to make myself available for cooking duties. I can provide references if needed.

Well, it definitely started as a ride after thing, I'm not so sure my rib will be up to being leaned over a metal tank by Sunday though.... So either way would be fine. You guys can take off on a ride from here even if I can't make it.

Thanks to everyone for being there. And a special thanks to Ben for doing a great job on the cooking. Guess it helps when you have a brand new BBQ and you're all jazzed up about cooking on it. LOL It was good to see everyone. Sorry I didn't get to talk with everyone, or get to introduce myself to everyone I hadn't already met. Karen and I decided that next time we should park the car out in the driveway and set up chairs and tables in the carport. That seemed to be a pretty popular place to get out of the heat and sun. LOL And the hillclimb video seemed to go over pretty well too. Guess we'll have to break out some of our Crusty Demons of Dirt videos next year and watch the dirt bikers tear themselves to pieces. Anyway, thanks again. Everyone take care and ride safe.
