Today Wolf Creek was trashed in the thunder storm. My kids were driven home in a 4 wheel drive by one of their teachers as the school buss could not make the drive. I'll post up when I can see the road surface again.......

Wolf Creek was clean, but apparently the sheriffs are all over the place there because of drifters and stuff... So be careful...

I passed the drifters a few weeks ago but never noticed any enforcement.

Excuse my ignorance, but by "drifters" do we mean people "drifting" cars? As in, sliding their ass end around corners by excessive use of hand brake/throttle?

Pretty sure that is who he is referring to. And if they are anything like the street drifters up in Ptown, that would be a bit disappointing. Drove with a few of them last year, was anything but impressed (Our riders would take them in a heart beat).
And yeah, :censored: them for dragging all the gravel and loose debris onto the road. :yell: If you wanna practice, get on a dirt or gravel road, you will learn more and faster.

Apparently they haven't seen Tokyo Drift. EVERYONE knows you practice drifting on unsed docks, not on mountain roads - That's for when you know what you are doing...

well... all that sheriffs thing sucks, but we all like to have our fun (bikers, drifters...) and we don't have much of a places to practice, so we all kinda in the same boat...

Except if a drifter runs wide in a corner s/he can take out oncoming traffic a lot more easily than a motorcycle can.

This is true, but in their defense, the smart ones go out at night to reduce the amount of traffic and often use spotters to check for traffic.
My issue has to do with kicking up debris on the road. I'm fine with sharing the road, but if they cover it in gravel and dirt, then we can't 'use' it. Thus they are the ones not sharing.

Wolf Creek / Smith River was clean on the way to Reedsport Friday night. I saw all the skid marks and thought Alex might be practicing some trick moves. Plan on coming back that way today, so I'll hopefully update when I get home.

Wolf Creek was restriped yesterday so it is clean and freshly swept. Havent seen any cops out here but there have been a few groups of Fast and Furious kids from time to time. Those skid marks are kind of strange arent they.....

I left work early and rode Wolf Creek yesterday. :rad: It felt good to ride, it has been to long since I rode just for the heck of it.
Anyway, there was some gravel here and there for the first six or so miles. It looks like they were mowing the shoulders and kicked up the gravel. Not too bad and very little gravel in the corners. Basically, they earned +1 for improved sight lines, but got -2 for the added debris. The top part was not effected, but who knows, maybe they're mowing that right now. :bash:
