Are you signed up for this one allready Dan? Do they allow sign up this early?no, I'm not signed up yet. I go with a bunch of surgical services people from the Hospital. We go on one of the first track days of the year with PSSR. Last year we went in April and got rained out. This year we are going on the third day of the year. May should be much better. I'll probably sign up after Christmas, or ask for it as a Christmas present! We are putting together the plan now. sounds like there will be about 5-7 of us there. the more the merrier!

Dan count me in. I would like to get involved with any planning since I have never been. Not sure what I will need to bring or do for prep. Any input would be appreciated. It’s a ways away so lots of time to plan. I can hardly wait. I will sign up in January

here's a list to get you started. I'm sure the guys will chime in with helpful things that I might have forgotten.

1. Leathers, or full riding gear that covers top and bottom. They will allow non leather gear, but they prefer leather. One piece is best, but two piece is ok for PSSR.

2. Back protector. This is a must and just good sense.

3. Tires with good tread.

4. Bring extra fuel, at least one can.

5. Don't come to the first day expecting to ride like Rossi (I doubt you will, but I'm just generalizing here). Just relax and learn. they provide an excellent environment to do this and if you take advantage of the education they provide you will be much smoother at the end of the day which equals faster.

Here (http://www.pssrtrack.com/) is a link to thier website so you can read more about the requirments.

Well guys, I just got word today that our surgical team might move the date to later in the year. Seems one of our group will be racing in Ireland during the 11th. Guess I'll just have to go with you all on the 11th an again with the other guys when they go

So here's another ignorant question. Where is PSSR located? It's not PIR I'm guessing.

A beautiful day in May sounds great!

Hey all, I'm sending my registration in tomorrow with a check. I'll be there come hell or high water. I hope to see some of you all there. I'll be staying in the Jantzen Beach Red Lion the night before. They have a kicks ass restaurant and bar, but I won't be getting tipsy the night before, cause I gotta ride the next day!

I see how you are. It's not the Ritz but my couch and futon are way cheaper then the Red Lion. Besides, I can cook a better steak and I have beer on tap! You guys (you know who you are) are always welcome at my house.

If you just want to be closer to the track but don't feel good about the bike being safe I have some friends LITTERALLY 6 blocks down the street from the Red Lion who I'm sure would let you off load and store the bike at thier place for the night.

There is a group of about 6 or 7 of us going. I don't know if you want that many guys on your futon..... don't know if I want to share it with that many guys :kfc:

anyway, I'll keep that in mind. I plan on doing more then one track day this year....

May is a long time off, but like Eric, I'm also limited to the quantity of track days I can do. May just sort of happened with another group I ride with. If ya'll can make it that would be awesome, but you gotta get yours when you can so I understand. Either way, it'll be a great summer.

Wonder if I should take the time to mention that I am in the preliminary stages of planning a ride to Mexico at the end of summer.....;)

Well, Im torn on the may track day for my firsty. I am worried about inclimate weather that early in the season. Do you think they will fill up fast? I was thinking of maybe waiting till that week and then finding a relible five day weather forcast........Does this sound like a sensible idea?

As far as Mexico trip goes, better install lowjack and some 'personal' protection - I hear its like a warzone in some areas right now.

dansrc51
02-26-2009, 05:36 PM
I don't think there is a problem waiting until we are closer to the actual day. I'm pretty certain that they did not fill all the slots last year. You'll have to have your release form into them before you can ride, but you might be able to do that track side. Give them a call or email, they seem pretty flexible. I went last year in May and the weather was perfect

it's not that i'm limited to the # of track days i can do
but pssr is mostly mondays and thats a little diffucult for me when i;m working
and cascade is one of my sponsors so i can ride for less than 210$
a day

don't people crash a lot at CCT days? Not sure where it came from but I have this preconceived idea that cascade is reckless or something. But i also don't know what i'm talking about.

The crashing at CCT days doesn't have so much to do with the way the days are organized or run, as much as it has to do with the ppl that attend CCT days. You will find that the CCT days have a greater number of actual racers, versus the other trackdays, that tend to be made up of street riders. This has to do with the fact that most CCT days are on the Friday before a race weekend.

On the otherhand, my second trackday with MotoCorsa had 18 crashes thoughout the day. :idunno:

hi,, What kind of tape works best to tape off your headlights?.. Hoping to find a tape that can be easily removed without damaging the headlight plastic lense..

04-10-2009, 08:21 PM
Most people use blue masking tape.
I had Warp grafix cut some vinyl paint mask to size for the lights, it worked great.
Don't forget to tape your wheel weights too:thumbup:
