condensation ????

thought i would get some ride'n in today but when i got to green hill gas station i noticed my oil check window had a white film coating it. so i look at it better and saw a thick white troth above the oil line. :yell:

check the water reservoir to see how low it was and it wasn't. :thinking:

so i ride home careful not to go above 4 grand. thinking my valves cover gasket was blown from the cold snap.

i get home ok and got right to it, after i finished my nap the bike was cool and i drained the oil and thats all that came out, oil.?????
check the filter, its ok for 5000 mi. time to change the oil and filter anyways. :rolleyes:

i never noticed this white stuff in the past.

Which occurs from shorter rides and more drastic weather changes (like we have been having lately ). Not many people get to store their bikes in a heated space so it tends to draw moisture into it from cooling off and shorter rides do not allow for the acids and waters to burn off the oil. Especially if you are like me and only have a covered storage and no garage. I would recommend taking a 100+ mile run and/or changing oil and filter if it seems reoccur.

Yep let it warm up good then go on longer rides and it will go away. Totally normal like sean said.

Like the others said. Take it out and give it a good spanking. It's happened to couple of my bikes and that always seems to fix it.
