boy am i pooped
got to portland tues night
dropped the bikes off at the track
went back to the hotel and tryed to get a good nights sleep
wendsday overcast and 50ish
take out the R6 to check out the track
very poor conditions
dirty track crap every where
oh well ride around it got the body and the bike warmed up
and try to turn some decent laps
on last years tires with 2 races and three track days on them
worked out the kinks and the cobb webs
on to the R1 :bounce:
take out the big bike pussy foot around
shit she wont turn front woobles through corners
why wont it turn ah ha it's not a 600
ride the bitch
OK give her some gas turn it in like you mean it
and hey this is fun
give it some more gas pick up the pace
now we are passing people
weeeeeeee wheelie outa t-9 down the front straight
this is what the big gal is made for
my smile grows bigger ever time i take her out
spent the rest of the day doing back to back session on both bikes
what a day
thrusday morning wet track
put some fresh tires on the 600 let the track dry out
and repeat back to back sessions on both bikes
friday morning race practice wet track
wait around till after noon helping the new novice racer get through thier check rides and work out thier fears
i'm whipped decide to not ride go eat and back to the room
sleep from around 8:30 pm till 5 am it's race day !!!!!!
saturday moring dry track and it's clean but a bit chilly
get one practice session befor the race feels f-ing awesome
they call my first race my first ever expert race 40 something bike on the grid i'm gridded F1
the flagg drops and the race is on
oh shit evryone is charging hard they all want my little piece of track screw them it's mine
get through the mayham of turn 1 and going into t-4 here comes my motor builder inside me super hot front tire squirming all over the place
no way is he gonna be able to gather it up and not hit me if i turn over him check up and make the turn now he's in front of me
and theres a 14 year old spinning up his rear tire crap he's into
what looks like a nasty high side and he's gonna take me out
pin it and gather it up and get through t-5
going into t-6 the same kid comes flying by me great save
i tuck in behind him and sage and start turning some 15s this is a blast 4 more laps and the red flag comes out
crash in t-4
they regrid us and we sit there for 10 minutes
they give us 2 warm up laps and restart us
another mad dash for turn one and we make it to 7 laps another red flag and the race is over finished 23 out of about 35 bikes
second race the starts are crazy i need to man up and stick it up in there
but i fall behind a yellow flag in t-1 a waving yellow in t-2 but the race goes on
i make up a few places but i'm tired the half way mark comes jeeze 6 more laps i just put my head down and try to finish at the 10th lap here come the leaders i get lapped oh well at least i didnt crash:nutkick
finish the 12 lap race and get off the track
i learned alot like i should have put on fresh tires for the second race
they were a bit twitchy after half a day of practice and one race
race pace is a whole lot differnt than a track day
but what an awesome way to spend 4 days
load the truck and go home :rad:

When I started reading it I was all leaned back in my chair. By the time I read the last word, I was on the edge of my chair with a big grin on my face saying ,yes yes yes don't stop go go yess!!I was this close to blowing my wad, had you won, I would have lost all control:drool::drool::thumbup::thumbup::D:D Great re-cap.

what does it mean when the front wobbles through a turn? is this a "close to crashing" sign?

means i'm going to slow to get it to turn smooth
and at speed it will wobble if i get the throttle input wrong
and upset the suspension
