Dude, we gotta do ORegon Raceway Park. there's a new format too! $139.00 trackdays. Instead of on the track every thirty, its every other 30. you only end up with 2 full hours of track time, but it would save you $100.00.
It looks like the first trackday on ORP is 4-25. I'm excited to get reviews from the racers.......

That's actually a good price. PSSR is every 40. I've got ORP marked for later this year if I can swing it.

Eric, can't ride but would love to drive. I'm so needing to hear those bikes ripping around the track! Will they let me bring the Sube inside? I could bring refreshments or such.................Sunday most likely.
1st race is when? 1100?

on getting the bike tied down in my truck... you think it's alright to hook around the frame sliders... i have LSL's... it seemed to hold it pretty well i just dont' want them to break obviously. i saw about putting the strap around the handlebars on the grips but i thought that looked a little sketchy and might damage the throttle or something... any tips?
thanks

I would not mount anything to the frame sliders. They are not meant to take a sustained load like that.
Get a set of canyon dancers, or mount the straps to the forks. Do it the right way, or you will pay dearly.

totally on the canyon dancer.. there are also these things that tir to the bars that look like figure 8s. i had to use those because canyon dancers were sold out... and tieing(sp?) to the bars is fine, you just dont tie it so tight. theres a spot where its secure and alot of space beyond that where its too tight. and tie down equally!!

pretty sweet. learned a lot. low sided around turn four. i think i gased it too hard out of the turn because the rear end slid out from under me.then picked my bike up to realize i could ride more laps and found out the oil drip i thought would be ok.... wasn't. probably what made me crash. there was oil spatter on my back rim, exhaust pipe. it was blowing back off the oil pan and riding it hard made it worse. it's quite possible though that i just got too comfortable with going really low and didn't have the skill to keep that edge... or even know exactly were it was. pretty interesting.
that back straight is nuckin futs tho. i had guys flyin by me so i knew i wasn't doing nething stupid but when your bike starts to slide a little at 130 it's not so easy to get used to.
all in all i'm really happy with how the day went. bike is a little scraped but fine.. i'm fine other than a black toe nail, no idea how that happened cuz the bike came down on my other leg.
i wish i would have hung out with eric and triple more cuz i pitted too far away and didn't see em much. oh well. next time. gotta get this oil leak fixed.

hey ed
if you want to go slower thats fine but if you leaned forward a little more and drop your inside shoulder some you would use less lean at the same speed
a good way to think of it is tits on tank
you dont have to have your chest on the tank but leaning forward more and tucking down more will help

damn! that's loooooooow low low low! thanks for the advice. anything else you got as to why i might have crashed would be helpful too.
hopefully i'll see you out there again this summer. gotta get a job.

on a 600 coming out of t-4
you have to be gentle on the throttle
until you have the bike upright enough to pin it
thats a common place to lowside
but i can regularly get the back tire to spin out of 4 while the front comes up
it's all pratice more seat -track time = more knowledge
of what to do and when to do it
hope to see you out there again :victory-s

yeah. i just hope i don't have to replace too many motorcycles to get the skill. in a turn do you weight the inside peg (closest to the ground) or the outside? i have heard both.
i think if i had picked it up while rolling on the throttle that would have kept me from crashing.
i'm ready to go again now... i might just do some scrap work to build up a quick 300 bucks
when does CTT do the laguna seca day? i definitely want to put that on my calender.

i only try to weight the outside peg when getting the bike stood back up
it's kinda hard to weight the outside peg when your at full lean
and trying to keep everything setteled
and it's just something else to distract you trying to remeber to get weight out there
really just pratice getting off the bike leaning forward and doing it all smoothly
CTT is'nt doing any out of state tracks this year
may 28-29th is the next CTT days
