Here is actual proof that someone can make it to the top of Mary's Peak and back down in one piece on an R1. (sorry Karen. Im just picking on ya :smilewink ) But seriously, after the funeral service for the man who had been hit and run in springfield today, Tim (Green) and I road out to Florence to pick up my real license plate for my new bike, and then road up the coast and in towards Corvallice. On the way he introduced me to Mary's peak. at the base of the road, he pulls over and asks me if Id like to go up to the top...told me what a great view it was and such...and then he proceeded to tell me that this was the same R1 killer road that took Karen and her bike out! :eek: I was a bit intimidated going up, but road within my skill level and had an awesome time! And what a view from up there! WOW! I wanted to take a minute to thank Tim for riding along with me today. I always feel safer riding long distance with another rider along, and he really went the extra mile (Literally) by showing me those roads! Thanks Tim!

from Eugene get on HW99 to junction city. then to Monroe, then head to Alsea. At Alsea turn right on HW34 headed toward Philomath. When you get to the top of HW34, the entrance to Mary's Peak will be on your left.

Mason.. just let me know when your headed this way and i can meet you at Junction City Safeway parking lot.

OOoooOOOoohhhhhhh....... Id definately be up for going again too..even Hwy 34 in that section of the world is freakin AWESOME!. But I wont be able to go untill the weekend though.
