So I was outside today scraping bugs off my bike and the whole time I'm thinking to myself[there's got to be a better way to clean bugs, tar and such]. I was wondering if anyone had any tips, tricks, or special cleaners/solutions they use that work good for cleaning/polishing?:victory-s

Plexus!!! Also, a trick I learned from Shawn is to drape a wet rag over you windscreen/front fairing for a few minutes and the bugs just wipe right off...:clapping:

I've been doing this for years, and it works on helmets too (which is where I originally heard of it). It's most effective if done when you first get home. If you get the wet rag over the windscreen/fairing and your helmet first, by the time you have your other gear off and put away the bugs and such just wipe right off...

Green Palmolive, a bucket, a rag, and a hose.
Good for chains too.

yep the wet rag trick works great
simple green for the sticky stuff
and then straight water to get all the residue off
then dollar store lemon pledge for the shine
works as good as plexius cost way less
i use it on everything
plus if you use it it makes the gunk come off eaiser next time

Plexus is great product; endorsed by many pilots. But if you are where I think many of you are, try a can of ordinary Lemon Pledge. You who are open to sugestion might find it works for a far less expense. As for you who are stolid, might be less apt to listen to my suggestion.

I use the pledge sometimes, but find it leaves a residue that streaks when you touch it, like on the tank and such... But you are ridht.. they are WAY PROUD of that plexus...LOL. But a lil goes a long ways.
I also use WD-40 for cleaning my wheels, thaks any bugs, b-dust, and dirt right off, and leaves a coat so things don't stick.. only problem is with the dirt driveway, the dust hangs onto the WD... not with the Plexus...
Jus' sayin!!!!

I have to give the Plexus a try. All the FBO's and Cycle stores seem to sell Plexus for about the price of a good kidney...
