Well the days are getting shorter, the skies are getting darker, and the pavement is getting wetter. Yes we are almost into the "off season."
Sure, some of you 'real' motorcyclists will continue to ride. That is fine, but I am not a 'real' motorcyclist, and never claim to be. So in my "off season" I have to find other things to occupy my attention until the warm weather makes its return next year. And I am willing to bet there are some like minded people on this board.
That is why I would like to take this opportunity to invite anyone to share their hobbies and activities that they enjoy, in this the "off season."
I hope that members will use this thread, or a new thread if they choose, to post up about activities that other members can participate in.
In years past, we have had group ice skating, rollerblading, rock climbing, bowling, and other such activities. (I should probably pull up one of the old threads, but I am too lazy to find it right now. )
You may now return to your regularly scheduled riding threads, until the "off season" officially starts in earnest. :ride:

Yes Tom you have a good point! Yes there are more fair weather riders than some of us that ride all year. So as to add to Tom's post bowling after an early bike nite would be cool. For thos of us we can ride to Papa's around 6 eat then bowling at 7 that way the nonriders can just meet at the bowling aly at 7?

:rad:Brian, let's work it out. My kids are into skiing and snowboarding. My wife and I have only skied but I cannot think that boarding is too difficult to somone whose surfs and skateboards. We plan, even though are financial situation sucks, to ski a handful of times at Willamete Pass. Let's coordinate!

I sooooo wanna try snowboarding. I only went once and even though it was pretty short lived since a bunch of us were sharing one snowboard, I had a blast... I'd be down for bowling or skating or something as well...

Well, politically correct or not, starting next weekend thru the end of January I will be killing ducks and geese, so if anyone wants to do that, give me a shout!:rad:

Dang! Sounds like some good eating is going to happen! Anyone have Bear sausage? I'd pay! Venison, Elk?
Remember there is always the "Hookie Bus" out of Berg's. Unless they don't do 'em anymore??? They do the driving and you rest and relax and have fun!

Guns, studded tires on bikes, skiing and snowboarding and feasting on the bountiful harvest and freshly killed game... Just need a cabin out in the woods with snow covered trees a roaring fire and our tankards full...

Have cabin in woods on the coast and fire pit, not likely to have any snow though...
I gotta get my motorcycle parking area finished. Pisses me off that I have multiple weekends of hunting in my way.

Here is the last hunt of last season. It's a little wooded pond my buddy has permission to hunt. It's really the closest thing to what I would imagine a timber hunt in the south would be like. we bump them off first thing in the AM that they trickle back in all morning... mainly wood ducks and mallards... we just got lucky getting all drakes!

I do bowling and skating as well. Between the 2, I prefer skating - burns more calories and has a slightly higher risk factor. LOL

I agree, I need to stay active and bowling is just a rainy day excuse to get my 2 boys out and for me to wash down some Sierra Nevadas. At least when I mention skating, My wife wants to come too. It sucks not spending more time with her. We can skate some time and I'm not great, but it will be good exercise.

Been too busy with hunting for skiing to happen. However, the snow is in the air so it's almost time to put some wax on the skiis.....
The results are in from my hunting though:
Beer battered deep-fried widgeon: Fair
Teryaki Goose Jerky: Good
Smoked Teryaki Goose Jerky: Excellent
Goose Stew: OHMYGODEXCELLENTMAKEYOURMOUTHWATERFEEDMEMORENOW!
Elk and deer will have to wait until next year. Oh well!
