a couple of month ago thair was talk of a shop where we can work on our own bike, learn and save some money.
well it has happen (sortof) i went to a grant writer (someone who handles the paper work for you) i applied for a grant and got a reply  butt thairs a fee of $465.
the guy i talk with (anthany moore) with U.S. Grant Writers and he assured me the grant is thair butt i need to come up with 1/2 ($265) by tomorrow (the other half by the 16th) or the grant will go to the next in line.
all this is new to me and looked up grant writers on Wikipedia and found this is a legit business.
so now comes the hard part, asking for donation to get the ball rolling.
i am looking for a nice shop and am going to fill it with all the tools we would need for our bikes and autos too.
this includes paint booth, welding and metal area, hot pressure washer, bike lift, solvent tank, sand blasting tank, hand tools, power tools, air tools, cutting torch, work benches, vices & grinders, air compressors, ely testers, wire & hose, cleaners and polish, computers with manuals on line, winter storage, the kitchen sink, if i missed anything please let me know
and i got the prefect name, My Shop as in yours.

i got till 1;00pm tomorrow to come up with the cash, so how bad do we wont a shop to keep our bikes running nice and looking sharp.

all investors will be reimburse along with a few hrs. of shop time

mr. moore says i will get the grant in my hands by may 1st. that will give us time to find the right place.

o' did i mention the computers with manuals on line

well that the whole kettle of fish, hook, line and sinker.

ps pass this on, will need all the karma we can get on this one

My concern would be the urgency of them needing money. It seems a little sketchy to me just my :2cents:

I wonder too. If they're giving you a grant why would you have to pay for it?
Do more research. Is this a Federal grant or some kind of private thing? How long ago did you start applying for this help?
Be careful my friend.............................

OK. so it looks like they write the request for a grant and then you might actually get it.
Are you prepared to talk money, costs, allowances, profit, loss, flow, insurance and over all goal for "My Shop"?
Ever written a mission statement?

just sayin'
Love the idea. I just hope you have all the duckies in a row?

I love the idea Steve, and I certainly don't want to be a killjoy, but my "spider-sense" is going off because there are some things here that are also common to scams:
1. Promise of a large sum of money for a relatively (to the sum) small "investment"
2. Creating a sense of urgency

I can understand the grant writer getting paid for his services, but I would think if it was legit they would get paid OUT of the grant, AFTER it was awarded. I would also think time would not be so important.

I just don't trust it.

he's been trying to get ahold of me for a week (my phone was broke during that time and i got a new one) so he called darshawna ph. (room mate) and left a last time call. i mused of used her ph. as a 2ed phone #
he said the funds have just became available and wont last long and wont come around for a year, he could be a con. i am vary gullible. :idunno:
i filed for this grant a month or 2 ago.
bummer, you can't the good for the bad till it to late :censored:

thanks for the concern

dude, no question about it being a scam. Also go ahead and google the operation, guaranteed if it is a con someone's out there telling the world about it. Grant proposals can be written by anybody - for that price you could be outfitting the shop with stuff.

research the guy, the service , all of it. times are hard for a lot of people and the vultures know we're vulnerable.

I say no way.

Here is a troubling read.

Link (http://www.consumeraffairs.com/scam_alerts/grant.html)

This is how bad things have gotten, that citizens don't eve know how their own government works. When was that last time Uncle Sam gave you something you didn't ask for, let alone for free.

AHhahahah...the best part about that link Tom is that the first post is an American scammer ripping off a Nigerian - if that dont speak loads about where we are finacially here then I dont know what does :nutkick
