I haven't, but if I may ask, why not run a 180/55?

thanks D, the reason i dont run a 180 is im getting a better deal on the 190  just was a little cerious if there was any big difference i also was reading the most of the GP racers run 190 55 rather then 190 50s not saying im trying to be a GP racer.

Just like the 70 profile front tire, the taller sidewalls give you some suspension when leaned over. It also can be used to raise the rear ride height and quicken your steering, so you will have to change your suspension to maintain your current setup. Make sure you have enough room between the tire and swingarm however. I saw a guy at T hill with a too tall tire, that once he got up to speed the tire swelled and rubbed the swingarm.

that must have been a pretty dramatic slowdown

Also, most 55 series tires are "taller" (hence then increased ride height), offering a bit more contact patch at steeper lean angles.
Usually, 180/55s are cheaper than 190/55s - by quite a bit. If you are getting a better deal on a 190/55, I say go for it! I run 55 series myself and love them... :)

I'm on my third set for the Versys. My only (very very small) complaint is that I'm not quite sure I like them on gravel or sandy roads.
(insert comment from Brian here, something like "don't put street tires on a sport/touring bike if you're planning on taking it in a few off pavement situations dumbass!)
I got almost 10,000 miles out of my last back tire. WOW was it square towards the end.

I have run both the Diablos (standard, not Corsa IIIs, but the purposes of this discussion I don't think that will make a difference) and the 2CTs. Personally, I like the characteristics of the Diablos a bit more. Specifically, I thought Diablos offered better feedback - the 2CTs seemed a bit numb. Still, that wouldn't keep me from buying another set (in fact, I bought them because they were cheaper than the Diablos - and I wanted to try them). Grip was good and wear seemed adequate. For the price difference you mention, I would whole heartedly recommend getting the 2CTs.
Question for YOU: WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THAT DEAL?!? I want in!! :D

It requires a login to view. Can you summarize, or is that labor intensive?

Wow, I did copy and paste the portion after realizing you might not be able to see it but someone deleted it, here it is again minus some banter that was in the original post:
http://www.jakewilson.com/ (http://www.jakewilson.com/) will deliver a 120 & 180 Pilot Power combo for $157.98 and a 120/180 Pilot Road combo for $182.98. Buy two tires and get $10.00 off. Use discount code 'jw009' for a further $20.00 discount. Now you cant beat that!

I slapped on a set of the Michellen Anakees for my F800GS. they stick very well on the pavement, enough to grind pegs, and handle gravel pretty darn good too :2cents:
