I am in the market to buy some riding jeans. So far I have looked at Draggin' Jeans and Sliders. Sliders are a little cheaper in price, but are they any good. What do you all wear? Recommendations??

I have a pair of Joe Rocket heavy denims, and I had a pair of Icon heavy denims that were given to me. The Icons were to small, so I gave then to Daniel (Triplespeed on this forum).

The Joe Rockets are nice and comfortable, once you take the ballistic knee armor out. I could not walk with the pads in the knees. Way to uncomfortable, for armor that I don't expect to use. Most of my crashes put me on my back for side, either way the armor would not help.

The Joe Rockets don't appear to be anything special, and most brands will have very similar features (meaning not many at all) for these types of pants. I recommend trying on a few different kinds. As usual, you will probably have to go to Ptown to find much in stock to try on.

Props on looking for something safer than regular jean. :clapping: I will be wearing my heavy denims on the ride to the coast today.

That makes me feel better. I usually just wear regular jeans also. Have read several posts on here though about how dumb it is to not wear protection, so I thought I would try and be smart. I never plan on crashing, but you never know when you might slide out. I will probably try the sliders. They are only $80 thru comp accessories.

Yeah, yeah, so I didn't make it out.

Yesterday's ride was pretty good though. Two separate warnings from the same sheriff, in the same day. Now that is one bad @$$ LEO. :rad:

I'll give you the whole story later in person... But pretty much all he had on us was speeding both times. But all three of us were in one piece leathers. So he knew exactly what we were up to. But I think the full gear played in our favor. He was knowledgeable about bikes, though didn't admit to riding. Gave us a little, but well stated, lecture on the image of riders and such. Very positive encounter. And our riding was very respectful after the second encounter. Didn't wanna push our luck too much.

WOW!!! That is super lucky....from the same cop both times. Unheard of dude. I am on the verge of getting a new slip on pipe that is gonna attract a lot of attention. I don't know the laws about aftermarket add ons, but am gonna give it a whirl.

I wouldn't worry about it to much man I have had my pipes on my bike since I bought it and I have never been harassed by the cops here and it's a custom certified GP racing pipes rated at a 109 DB. So yea I think your slip on will be just fine man. Also I see a lot of people around town with slip-ons.

agreed on the leathers.....

however, I am gonna pick up some thick denims for the quick trips to town type of ride. If I wanna scoot into Fred Meyer or to go to dinner, I don't wanna suit up for a drone....

What size do you wear? I have a set of alpinestar leather bottoms with pucks I will sell you for $100- They are black, in great shape and contain the zipper to attach, making it a two piece suit.

Talk to the GSX R guy at Cycle Gear about his new exhaust. His new exhaust has been the reason (in one officer's words the loud noise is the reason he was alerted to his speeding. And in another forum, just last Sunday (06/13) a guy admitted that he got a $1,184 ticket for doing 120 in a 55 after passing some RV's on a passing lane on a stretch of Highway 53. He was well mannered and avoided being arrested and having his bike impounded.

Until you get hit by a cager... even at 25 mph.... ouch.

But I know what you mean. Guy I know has leather pants that kinda attach like chaps, but there full pants.. he can put them on over jeans or even shorts... I am thinking about some of them....

I wear a pair of black Icon pants for quick scoots or short rides. they claim to have some special kevlar cloth on the inside of the hips and knees. They may not rip like denim (not tested!) but they sure dont have padding. It will hurt going down most the time no matter what you wearing - limiting the pain and damage is the main objective and I think a good pair of riding "jeans" will limit possible low speed road rash but not the bumps or breaks.

Getting hit by a car, even at 25, will f- you up no matter what you are wearing. when you hit the ground after said compaction, full leathers with proper pads will feel better (and are a must when riding aggressively IMHO as well).

I've got some size 34 Cortech jeans that someone can have cheap. They're on the large side for size 34. I can't wear them anymore because I've gotten too skinny.
