So here is the story...

So, just finished servicing the super moto... test ride and let it run for over 20 minutes. Double check all my bolts and make sure there are no leaks. All looks good so i go for a ride to get some dinner. About an 1/8 of a mile before the VRC off ramp in Eugene i started to blow oil, but did not know yet... The off ramp is a fun corner and i want to have fun in the fun corner. Coming into it I felt the rear tire break loose but assumed it was just a slick spot in the road as i was not going that fast... maybe 60ish. Got into the corner and hit the gas... the bike sarted going sideways a little which was really no big deal until it got all the way sideways. Made it about half way up the ramp and lost it. Low sided the bike at about 60 and I slid off the road. Come to find out the oil bolt was no longer in the case.... how it came out I am not sure as i tightened it twice. But oh well. **** happens. The tire was completely covered in oil. My friend behind me said it was quite spectacular to watch me ride it for as long as I did. And the guy on the cruiser who was on the inside lane stopped after I wrecked and he told me he thought i was doing it on purpose... heh... i wish :) Anyways, bike suffered a minor scuff on the axle nut, foot peg, and muffler. Also need to replace the grip and throttle tube from being ground down a little. My jacket is awesome... leather does its job ( i have proven that twice now ;)...) Was wearing jeans and those are prety much toast. Have some decent rash where my jacket came up a little, and smashe my ankle pretty good. Nothing broken, will be a little stiff for a couple days I am sure. Here a caouple pics of the wreck... (notice the oil on the tire?)

Where my friend is standing is where it started to get noticably sideways... I hit the gound about where i am standing taking the picture....

Dude! Im happy that youre okay! Thats really odd that the oil nut came loose even after checking it twice! I will be adding that to my pre-flight checklist from now on.
Do you think the motor suffered any damage because of the loss of oil?

It didnt actually loose it... the tire caught all of it  but seriously... it was still dumping when i wrecked so it just happened. Had i not wrecked it probably would have killed my motor. I would have had no idea it was spilling out :idunno: oh well, **** happens. need some new grips and an oil plug and ill be ready to go again

That really sucks...glad you and the bike are ok though!

You should show those pics to the service dept. at Cycle Sports. They seem to have problems even tightening the drain plug in the first place, and don't seem to understand the danger in ithttp://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/rolleyes.gif.

Did u lose the drain plug completely? Looks like it. If u did then u would be the second one in my lifetime that I have known thats lost an oil drain plug completely.

Ya I'm the same way. They threw in the Gold membership thingy when I bought the bike...and I figured you couldn't screw up with simple oil changes. I don't let anyone else touch it now though.
