Well Damian, I have to agree that something is always better than nothing....and they aren't necessarily cheap, just cheap relative to some of the overpriced stuff on the market. The leather may not be as supple, the cuts may not be as form fitting, you may not be mistaken for Nicky Haden at your next track days, but when you need them most...when you're sliding on the black top....that's when you figure it was money well spent.

Ebay is a great place to look for leathers imo. I got my Spidi full suit for $420 (originally $1100) and there was not a single flaw to it. The first owner bought it a tad small thinking it would stretch out and it never worked out that way. I have quite a few friends who had full suits that they found for like $200 on ebay and they were in good condition. Just my two cents. Good luck.

I have to agree. I picked up a used set of Alpinestars from a board member here for 150.00. my money would be on the ebay, craiglist buy's for good used leathers before I went cheap new. When you're on the track, you don't want to be thinking about whether or not your gear is going to hold up. :2cents:

They cheapen these suits by using inferior products, skipping the extra double and triple seams, etc. Id probably entertain used before cheap. I got my suit in the closeouts section from newenough dot com. It was last years model but a higher end suit. I tried on one of those cheap skimp suits and I could definitely tell the difference in the leather feel, the snaps and zipper were hokey, one pull even broke off in my hand as I got into the thing. The lining wasn't sewn in right but fixable. The velcro was barely able to stick. The sizing of the thing was way off. And, the extra little touches, soft collar, back/crotch/pit vents, inside finishing and range of adjustments just weren't there.

Got my suit used as well, but regardless of which way you go, anything is better than nothing.
