Vid from the last lap of the last session of my first trackday. Not the way I wanted to end the day, but could have been much worse!:crash::eek:

what tires were you running and how old were they? Glad you held it together and didnt go down! The outside of 4 coming into 5 is VERY slippery, as is the outside of 3. You seemed to be taking a wide entry angle into 3 and 4. Video footage is a valuable learning tool!

Yeah, my lines that day were not really bike lines. That was my first bike track day and I was running it as a dual bike and car track day. So every 20 minutes I was alternating from my bike to my car and by lunch time I was getting so confused about what line to take, that I stopped running my car in the afternoon (besides the bike was way more fun than the car ).
The tires, about them, they were part of the problem. I was running a pilot power upfront and a slightly worn pilot sport in the rear. But if you pay attention to the video you can tell that I basically just got on the power a bit too early and slipped the rear.
And yeah turn 3 (car turn 6) can get a little slick . Here is another video from a track day a couple weeks after the previous video. Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DVvgrj0yJ0)

Hey Tom-Cat... judging by the multiple sets of skid marks going off in the same direction... I'd say your not the first, and definitely not the last to do that same thing. Glad you kept it upright!

Im watching your speed vs. the RPMs u were at.
It looks like 8500 at a little over 60 MPH. It like there was a slick spot, or u were getting the power on while leaned too far over. I notice you take a outside line coming in. Nothing wrong with that, because its supposed to put u in tight for the exit but it was like u drifted out of the turn because of the speed, and then whacked it open to much to soon.
Looks cool on video... My head always turns sideways when I watch it.......
 right on.
