Well I've got some awesome news!

There is a very strong possiblity I'll be moving to Lebanon/Corvallis here very shortly!

A friend of mine has a barn over in that area and could use some help training and selling horses, and well that's a huge thing of mine so I'm going to take her up on it. She still has to talk to the barn owner and make sure it's ok with them, because I'd be staying in my RV on their property.

Basically what I'd be doing is helping around the barn, taking care of horses, exersizing and training horses, and helping advertise/show the sale horses. This has been a life long dream of mine so I'm hoping things work out. My friend has a 5 yr old Warmblood gelding who needs a new rider because he's being a total ass with her so he's going to be one of my "projects"... now that could get interesting!

Anyways, most of you probably know nothing when it comes to horses so I'll quit rambling/bragging.

I just thought ya'll might like to know, cuz that means I'll be a hell of alot closer to ya and could possibly make a bike night or two!

Horses were my first love and I still enjoy riding.

I hope you have a velcro butt fot that "project".

Congratulations!

Actually, there are probably quite a few of us in here that know about horses.

My first job was as a groom in a morgan horse stable that included in its many horses a 9 time national 2 time world champion stallion... I got to travel all over the united states and Canada with them. Lots of fun, but lots of long hours, and very SH*TTY pay. Its a lifestyle choice for sure. I still love horses a whole lot, but my motorcycle is alot less expensive, much more predictable, and it NEVER poops in the garage.

yup, i'm with karen... there are a few of us that know quite a bit about them. i was raised around the paint horse industry, my aunt help form all the local APHA chapters for the Louisiana/Arkansas/Texas area and still puts together tons of shows. Been riding since i was a little tyke and just recently got out of it. I used to show my 'problem child' in hunt seat, english pleasure, western pleasure, western eq, dressage, trail, and halter/showmanship... on top of the fact that i used the same horse for all those classes, he was also my barrel racing/pole bending horse and i ALSO did rodeo with him... self trained, thank you very much! *pats self on back* haha

congrats on the new job... dont let it beat you up too bad! thats part of the reason i've quit for a few years (in the words of garth) i'm much too young to feel this damn old!! ... that and the whole poop in the garage thing!

HAHA horses can be expensive... that's the only downfall... the only one I see. I'm into paints big time... they're my love. I had my 3 yr old all around project put down about 2 months ago because she coliced and twisted her gut. Didn't really have much choice there. She had some MAJOR potetial as an all arounder. We were already winning in Dressage and Hunter shows, and English Pleasure, English Eq, Western Pleasure and Western Eq. I had started her on Trail stuff, and shown a couple of halter classes, but that wasn't her thing... too cowhocked to beat any "real" halter horse. She kicked butt at sport horse in hand stuff... cuz well... she was built for hunters! Self trained as well!

Right now I'm in the process of saving up for a new project, so I think this is a good place to start for me... what better way than to train a few horses, help sell em and get a good chunk out of their price tag to go towards a new one... and a bike of course!

Horses are my #1 passion and will always be, but bikes are a growing interest of mine so they're right in there too.

Great, Andi!!! You can come and manage Mike and my barn when we are away to shows. There is some talk about opening up a 3 day eventing barn here in the future...

Sorry about you having to put your mare down. I had to do the same thing with an appaloosa/morgan we had. It's absolutely the worst!

What's Mr. Obie doing with that HUGE barn he built on Lorane Highway? It looks like it would be a great spot for events. Never see anything going on there.
Ride on!

It's for sale... bet it's really cheap too. I think the fence alone is worth more than my house and property combined. Sure is pretty though!

Wholy crap you have no idea how awesome that would be! Seriously... that is a big dream of mine! You'd be pretty much screwed though, if we were all showing

I've never evented, but I've taken a couple of cross country clinics... and let me tell you! I had the biggest blast ever! Even when I got dumped on my head before the water jump.

Money would be nice in any case... I don't play the lottery... yet. I'm afraid I'll blow what little money I do have and too much... just not worth it right now. Though when it gets over 300mill it's VERY tempting!
