Does anyone have a suggestion for new mufflers on a '91 FJ1200? :idunno:

I like it quiet and all but the old ones just need to be replaced and I thought if I could find something sleaker and maybe a little throaty this would be the time to change 'em.
I'm taking it in this winter for long needed service and if I have to have it torn apart I might as well do it all.

Thanks

oh, well.

Be nice and don't tell me to sell it or anything, 'K? There's a 5 year plan involved.

lol..I actually spent about 30 minutes or so looking on google, and didnt find much. But Im sure you can add a yosh to it even if you have to have some custom welding done. For that matter, Im sure you can add whatever you like to it as long as youre willing to do a little custom work. good luck and post ups some pics if you do it!

Thanks for trying Mike. Your an angel

I did anticipate that there'd be a little extra work involved considering the creature's age. As I remember Yoshimura was the choice for these things in the past so it'll probably be the way I go.

When I had my 93 FJ the choices were very limited. I ended up with Cobra F1s.

I went looking for discontinued stock, NOS, anything that would fit. Not much left. I did end up getting some good deals from some hillclimbers. They only want the motors and I got most everything else.

Old bikes require creativity.

So true MtTime. I did find some Vance/Hines thru J&P cycles. Don't know that it's worth over 500.oo (w/shipping).

I haven't really seriously chased this down. Just researching. Ya, know?

Thanks for the remark!

Shoot... I knew I shoulda kept the Supertrapp from my old FJ. I loved the sound of that pipe... it wasn't terribly loud, but it did sound fantastic: really low rumble combined with a scream at WOT. At about 90, it howled like a banshee. :rad:
