I was just curious who rides in the rain, and who is putting there bikes up till summer? Any winter plans? Snow boarding, skiing, snow mobileing? Kicking back and watching movies on the couch next to your fire place? What does every one do in the winter time? Happy early thanksgiving:yes:

Personally, I put the bike on a trickle charge and pray for the occasional nice day. Then whip it out and go for a ride. Whether its 10 miles at 40 degrees or 100 miles at 50.:smilewink :ride:
Hibernation is the other part of the equation and not necassarily a good one. What with a hot tub, fireplace and cabinet full of booze it's too easy! :idunno:
So many things to do here in Orygone! :bounce:
I do like to go to the coast for 2 or 3 nights and storm watch. Mmmmm cozy! Brandy, cigars and dark chocolate! :shhh:
yes, I'm working on expanding my options........just waiting for the right ones. Sad isn't it?

Work...eat....tinker on bike in living room....sleep....work...eat....tinker...sleep..... .Untill tuesday, then its a full day of 2 wheel tuesdays on the speed channel!
My bike just sits, covered up in the garage 'till the roads dry up.
I don't really have too many winter hobbies though. Just take the summer toys apart and fix/clean/modify stuff....

I ride most year around, snowboard, work on projects I have put off... hang out with my dog... shes a attention whore. reflect on the past year and figure how to make it better... write song lyrics... Blog.... Try to analize past friendships, see about new ones....:idunno: Learn new tricks- practice on bike on stand in garage... avoid rafters with head in garage ( owwwww) Polish...
Honestly I get depressed....

Honestly I get depressed....
Your preaching to the choir man. I have alot stuff I do in the winter... but I am a huge wimp when it comes to cold, so I don't do as much as I could. I rode all winter last year... in 5 layers (R666 can attest to that) but this bike has too much newbie on it still, and I don't want it to get dirty in all its hard to reach places. So I'll be lighting big, cozy fires, watching movies, riding dirtbikes whenever I can get my hands & butt on one, hiking, and boogie boarding... and mostly waiting for sunshine and warm days to return. :frown:

... Snow boarding, skiing, snow mobileing...Yeah man, I am all about making the most of what you can get out of each of the seasons. Or at least I would like to. I sometimes find it hard to track down friends who are down to get out of the house and do something.:idunno:
And last winter was something of a disappointment:frown:. So I am really hoping for a better snow season.:victory-s
But there is something that has caught my attention :bounce:. I am interested in checking out Hang gliding. Really not sure what if any opportunities there are around here, but will try to check into it for sure.
Best wishes to everyone on a happy and safe thanksgiving

Honestly I get depressed....:rolleyes:move to phoenix with me! the weather is fab year-round :bounce:
karen- lets watch a movie sometime soon
I leave my bike in the garage, let it run every few weeks, then ride it when it's nice outside. I can't stand hte thought of just letting it chill the whole winter. As for me, I work and go to school. Takes up most of time already...

I am all for a group buy in for a boat to New Zeland for our winter...Ive heard that there are some twisty roads, and its just getting to be late spring there! Maybe we can put ourselves and our bikes in one of them big box containers and ship ourselves there...Only problem will be having to get used to driving on the other side of the road. lol

Ive been wanting to go hang glideing. If you find anything out...let me know. Ive tried calling around but I never got any calls back :bash: .
This year Im going to try snow mobileing!!! Make a few jumps and launch myself out into the snow:thinking: Its worth the try. They look pretty hevy though.... so I quess I will see what happends.:D
Except when it is cold enough for snow or ice, I ride year round.
move to phoenix with me! the weather is fab year-round :bounce: ...I use to live in Phoenix while going to college. Winters were great, average temps were in the 70s and 80s. However the summers were harsh when riding. Choices were either bake in your gear or go squiding where the air was so hot, your perspiration instantly evaporated not allowing your body a chance to cool down. Summertime temps in PHX averaged from 105 to 125 degrees.

Brandy, cigars and dark chocolate! :shhh:now that's how to spend a winter! except the chocolate, don't much care for it.... it's the Irish in me, I'd rather have whiskey... anyhooo, I ride year round, torment my wife by making her get up early to drive me to work when the beast is torn down for some mod or other, like right now when I'm cutting the front sprocket cover for easier access. oh, and I whine about not riding with all of my riding buddies....
