Every year I help out with car shows because of my parents and there friends. I have been involved in them since I was just a wee little things but this year I decided that I am going to do a display at the Eugene Roadster Show March 16th-18th and thats where you guys come in. Would any of you be interested in having your bike(s) in the display? I have been kicking around some ideas and I have came up with a basic display theme and what I want it to look like. The spot is only 20X20 (but I will know all that for sure tonight). There is not a ton of room but I just want to know who would be willing.. a variety of bikes is what I am looking for... stunt, race, show, ect... let me know what you think.

Thank you guys/gals so much. I was worried that I wasnt going to get much of a response. The head guy of the show was supposed to call me back tonight and never did.. so i will call him tomorrow again... so that i can figure out how much room we will have thus knowing how many bikes. The display i have in mind will take some time to put together so if you dont have a bike that you want to put in but you still want to help out that is appriciated as well.
TL Jester, Andy, Mike thank you all. All your bikes are more than welcome if i get the amount of space i want.
Thank you all again.
I will keep everyone updated as i become more informed.

Awwwww maaaaannnnn.....Tess is bringing the family Busa...Guess theres no point in bringing mine now. I dont think there is a bike in town that wouldnt be downplayed by that busa! The paint alone is an absolute work of art!

The paint alone is an absolute work of art! oh mike, dont be silly! your raven is beautiful too, just a different kind of beautiful. and trust me, after you see that 'busa in the garage every day, it loses a little of its mystique. and plus, we are trying for variety in the bikes, remember??

I talked to Jeff, the head guy and its a go. we can get a 20X20 for 50 bucks or if we can get a good enough display together and enough people, we can do a 20X40 for 100 and with that we would have a walk around display.. nothing on the sides of us.. so we would be right in the middle and people could walk completely around the display..
Let me know if you are interested and tell your friends with bikes too :ride: .
thank you!!

i think the bigger display would be cool, because then people can see things from every angle and we dont have to cram the bikes together... i'm excited for this to come together! :bounce:

TL Thank you that is awesome.
I am going to call Jeff back today and tell him that we want the bigger display.
If we could get some sort of donation thing together that would be cool.
This my idea so far: we will have street cones for our sanctions with caution tape going around them. I want to make some sort of road scene on the ground so we will need carpet and a good imagination for that.
I am also thinking that if anyone has any parts from when they went down, those would be cool to lay around the display as well..
Feel free to throw in ideas.. :help2: :D

Sounds like fun. I would be happy to get involved and help with whatever I can. If you still need bikes by then and mine isn't stock by then I'd be happy to have it there, also if funds are short to get the space let me know I could return all my empties and throw a good size chunk of change down, hehe.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've done a couple little things to my bike and hopefully I'll have completed a few more mods by then. I'd love to help with whatever needs to be done and I'd also be willing to chip in to cover some of the cost of the display space.

Anywho, yep its in March on a weekend. friday-sunday.

It is time to get the ball rolling.
Everyone that is interested in putting your bike in or helping I would like you to come to Pappas pizza this thursday the 4th at 8.. That way you can fill out the Registration form for me.. It is going to cost 100 for our spot so I was thinking everyone that wants to put a bike in can contribute 12 bucks or more if they want to help out more with the display....
Also this is what we will need help with if you have it.. or donations are more than welcome if you can help with that...
*Indoor/Outdoor carpet or somekind of something that we can draw a road out on..
*Wrecked Parts
*Street Signs
*Stop lights (I know someone has to have one of the play traffic light things..)
*Pictures.
*Cones.. Lots of cones.. this will be our sanctions..
*MOTORCYCLES!!
*Some one to fab up stans..Brother was thinking of having a bike or two in a stoppie and a bike or two in a wheelie.. thus need stans for that..
*any ideas.. throw out at me....

are we meeting at the one on 11th? i'll make sure to be there... dont know if dad can make it, but i'll just fill everything out for him in my name... i have a couple road signs i think... speed limit & construction... thinking on the speed limit signs we can graffiti on them and change what the speed is? that might be fun...

I guess I have a couple questions before I would commit to this...
1.) What is the "Theme" for your display? I hope no one takes this the wrong way. I guess Im concerned that we are being asking for wrecked bike parts, road signs, traffic lights, and equipment to put bikes in stunting positions. I just dont want to see the sportbike community inadvertantly portrayed in a bad way to the public that, as most of us know, already tends to stereo type us.
2.) How long will the bikes be needed for the display?
I might suggest that you contact Ben (superhawk ben (http://www.eugenesportbike.com/forum/member.php?u=99)) about the equipment fabrication as he is an excellant welder.
Thanks and good luck!
Like I said before my bikes all yours if you need more. Would you want a fairly stock bike though for what you're doing??

I understand your concern, totally understandable. Basically what I am thinking for the "theme" is to show a little bit of what we do... I was thinking we could have a corners scene, a track scene, a dirt scene, a stunting scene ect.. the wrecked parts are just to add decorations, signs and such are to similate roads.. once again this is all just an idea at this point....
OPINIONS/IDEAS wanted! :help2:
Matt: Yep.. we want it :) Come on thursday if you can...
