Does anyone know who got hit riding a "sport-type motorcycle" on Hwy99 last night? ...guy in his mid 20's? This doesn't seem like a good start to 2007 with so many people going down already! :frown:

heard about it, but not who. I'll keep my ears open, but it sounded like a bad accident

i heard that a suburban pulled out of a driveway in front of the bike... bike hit it so hard the bike went part way into the suburban and caught fire. rider lived but is in burn unit at sacred heart... have no idea who it was though. will try to find out though, i hope its not one of ours... sad that it has to be anyone though, this is a crappy start to the year:frown:

My homie just called me while I was reading this and said that the news paper reported the riding was performing a wheelie at some point. Ill try to find out more...:frown:
Thank god he is still alive.

I too heard that the rider was pulling wheelies and moving along at the brisk pace of 80 to 120 MPH in town.

Sounds like he/she maybe pretty lucky just to pull away with some burns. Could have been worse.

Gawd, this needs to stop. Having fun on a deserted road is one thing but in town on one of the busiest streets??? Makes me sad. :frown:

This is just making the cops pay closer attention to us. They're concerned for us and everyone around us and they're going to start cracking down even harder for little things just to keep us in line. :frown:

 Godspeed to the rider and prayers for everyone effected.

His name was Erik Andrew Lungren. I ride with him quite often. Hes a good guy. I highly doubt he was wheelieing when he hit the suv. He is a sensible rider. I believe the news made up a bunch of crap to make it look worse than it was. He was in the ICU he broke his ankle fractured his Femur and has some burns. He has lost feeling in his right arm but we are all praying that it comes back. It may just be a stretch injury. The nerves need to resettle into place. I for one have rode with Erik many times and yes he does try wheelies, but hes not good enough to be wheelieing at 60-70. He only powers it up from 30 for like 3 seconds. He may have been speeding but it is unlikely that he was screwing around when he hit the SUV. I have no idea if he was or not, but from riding with him quite often I know he is a sensible rider. Ill try and keep people up to date. He is going to be ok, its just a long road to recovery.

Jesse, good to see you around. Hope your buddy heals up quick. If I run into you at work you'll have to give me the low down. I'm not sure if I know him or not.

Thanks Jesse,

We hope he recovers quickly and can start riding again.

Have him join us here at the forum while he heals, if he's on-line.
