View Full Version : I'm out

I took a corner on Hill Rd too hot, got target fixation on the gravel on the side, the bike went over the edge and did a cartwheel over a fence. I think I did a bit of a high-side because I landed pretty far away from where we left the road.
I was wearing full Tourmaster gear (Sabre Jacket / Venture pants), RF-1000 helmet, SP-2 gloves, steel toe boots. So all I'm feeling is: my back is a little sore and I have two little bruises around my left should, and maybe one on my left inner thigh (I stuck my left leg out for some reason, I think I imagined my self stopping the bike or keeping it upright?)
I'm trying to get pictures online now, and I'll update when they get up.
The bike is toast (leaking coolant/oil)...oh well :mecry:

Sorry to hear about your shunt. Glad you're not hurt badly.
Did this just happen? Take it easy, you won't feel the worst of it until tomorrow morning.
I've ridden that road many times, I have a friend who lives out in Marcola, and that's the best route to get out there for me.
There are some places out there that can catch you by surprise. I usually slow down more than I need to for some of the corners. You never know if someone's tracked mud into the road. I see that fairly often.

:wow8: :frown: Max, so sorry to hear!
:clapping: So happy youor OK! too bad about the bike though. :mecry:
Target fixation, hadn't heard the term but it's so on! Breaking that focus before it's too late is tough sometimes. I have to mentally slap myself when it happens!
Stay down for a day or two until you know just how sore you'll be! Take care!

Probably doesn't feel like it, but you're very lucky:thumbup: That wreck could have turned out a lot differently. I just keep looking at that pic of the barbed wire.....gives me chills thinking about it. Glad to hear your relatively okay.
Keep us posted.

Believe me, I am completely aware of how fortunate I am! I was definitely being watched over. I could easily have been stuck on the bike, flipped with it and had a much worse outcome. But I didn't!

Not enough money to replace it immediately, but I'm hoping to get a 600cc sportbike within a year.
