I was pulled over a couple of weeks ago because I was riding on the fog line for about 100 yds and sited for failure to stay in my lane... Now that the cops arent getting their tax money I think that they are just looking for any little thing they can to collect revenue. Going to court on the 3rd to explain my side of the story, hopefully I can at least get my fine reduced.

I think once you show up to court for a ticket, it automatically reduces. Not sure tho, only had to do it once for a speeding ticket when I was 20...

Won't work...at least in Coburg! I went on the fog line out there for about 5 feet because a farmer's sprinkler (one of those big @$$ things) was going clear out across the road to the fog line on my lane. The cop right behind me didn't like that I touched the fog line without using a turn signalhttp://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/thinking.gif. He claimed that by law I was supposed to go through the sh** filled water and under no circumstances are you supposed to touch the fog line. It was kinda funny!

I was actually riding with my bro on I-5 and moved over to the fog line to motion him to pull up along side of me. I wanted to ask if he was going to exit at cresswell or go to my house. The cop didnt care. When my bro exited at creswell the cop actually asked me if he was trying to elude him!?

I say be carefull. Like I said they are out for revenue right now and if we give them a reason, they are going to take it.

the all mighty rule book says you can use any part of your lane . as long as you did not cross the fog line and go into the brake down lane he should not have stop you.
BTW they are tight for cash so........

Excuse my ignorance, but based on what has been said, I'm confused on what a "fog line" is. Can someone clue me in?

The white line? They call that a fog line, do they? Makes no sense to me. It serves a purpose even when there isn't any fog!

Yea, I dont suppose they would want to catch Banshees thieves or anything important, better to get you for touching the white line......

The white line is easy to see in the fog when your headlights hit it (they're usually somewhat reflective). it stands out more than something like a yellow line when the fog's thick...which is why it's called a fog line. It's even called that in the rule books.

:yell: So I went to court today.:yell: They droped 60 bucks off the fine. If I wanted to fight it I would have had to go back to court and take another day off work which would have costed me more money than it was worth. Hate bitting the bullet like that, but I cant afford to miss that much work, so I'll just bend over and take it UP THE A%$!!!

Man I'm pissed!!

The OR legislation passed a law that judges can only reduce the fine by 25%.

After my own little court experience last month I say forget trying to get a fair hearing in the Eugene municipal court.

If you do go to court, tell the judge that the cop was upset that you rejected his homosexual advances, at least that way you won't be the only one whose day is ruined.
