Would anyone care to suggest the best place locally to purchase plain ole black leather pants and/or chaps? Women's preferably.

I usually deal with Cycle Parts or Discount. Want to keep my business local.

Thanks

Have you checked out West Coast Leather in Springfield?

I haven't found a decent place in town yet. The best I've found - and I'm being very generous here - is Cycle Part (West 11th) and the shop on Conger (I can't remember the name). I have found some good stuff on the website for Cycle Gear, but they are a chain and therefore not exactly "local."

Good luck. Post up if you find a place. I'm in the market for some leather riding pants too.

Well,

I will check out West Coast. A Harley friend of mine has mentioned them. So I'll post what I learn.

Yeah, Discount is the one by DMV and I bought my FieldSheer there and some other stuff. Nice family shop and decent prices. Good selection, I think.

Cycle Parts (the Triumph dealer) is a shop I've dealt with for over 10 years. Just not a lot of selection, plus I always tease myself with those darned bikes!

Thanks, I let you know how it goes. :)

So here's what I learned.

West Coast was a bust. I'm not sure how the're staying open but they had very, very little to choose from. They didn't even come out from behind the counter to talk to me. They did say they'd help if I wanted.... Oh, they did point out the chaps and pants to me, all stuffed into bins on the wall.

I dropped by Ramsey/Waite, good selsction and prices as expected. Drowled on the toys, bought a Yamaha cap ($21.00!).:wow8:

Eneded up a Discount on Tyinn. Very good selsction. They've expanded into 2 more spaces. They didn't have my size but ordered it and it'll be there in 3 days. With 50% deposit. I'm AOK with that.:D

Ran into RexRaider there. He was right behind me from West Coast.

I will also have to agree, I have purchased all my gear over the years from Discount, including off road stuff, sportbike gear, even our comm sets. They are very fair, and if they dont have what you need in stock, it usualy arrives in a day or two. Two thumbs up in my book.

My :2cents: worth

Do they know about us? ESB/OSB? They kinda glazed over when I mentioned the forum. Would they perhaps consider sponsorship?

They're getting a lot of kudos from us.:victory-s

just a thought.

Yeah, Steve out at Discount Cycle is a good guy. Sorry to hear about a bad experience at West Coast, I bought a nice pair of insulated gloves there last Fall, and they were real friendly, maybe someone was having a bad day.
I try not to spend all my dough at any one local shop 'cause I hate to see a shop go out of business as each different shop seems to have SOMETHING that I'm interested in that the others don't have. Does that make sense?

Go west on W.11th... stay in right hand lane and look for DMV signs... follow the signs , the shop is right across from the DMV in a little shopping complex.
It is right next door to Corcorans Tool repair and supply. Good luck! :smilewink
