Eugene Bike Nights 2007 / 2008 / 2009 / 2010

Hey guys, I'm happy to announce Eugene Bike Nights will be starting up again!! The plan is the first Thursday of May, the 3rd, at 7 pm . Yes, this is a different time than last year. An hour earlier will give us more time to eat, than cruise town/ go stunting around 830 or so, before the sun sets. Location is Papa's Pizza on W.11th in Eugene, OR. yeah I think the record last year was somewheres around 65-70 sportbikes. tons of people, over 100. We had some car peeps join us as well for a little pizza and such.

I bought it from the folks over at Cycle Parts used with 8k miles on it.
It really is an awesome bike. I thought it was ugly when I first saw a picture of it, but in person it looks great.
The RS is a bit bulky, but the performance is wonderfull. She packs the famous 955 Triple. Plenty of power!

Hey guys, Ill def have my camera, like I do pretty much every week during bike nights. Group pic sounds great! Maybe then we can do some photochop action and get a slick looking flier out to the city. I have a feeling we wont get the crowd we did last year til we do that (50-60 bikes, some ricer cars, upwards 100+ people) Also, lots of people are always into wastching stunting, we could alwas end up where we did last year for that. So, whatever you guys want, we can do. Im also happy to lead a group cruise (around speed limit, for cop reasons and respect of other vehicle reason) around town around 830 or 9..its always fun. Yes, there is more organization trying to happen here, but I am so busy right now (trying to graduate and write a 30 pg paper in two weeks on top of normal school work/papers) I havent been able to do anything. Sooo..this means, at this point, how busy and fun it is is up to you. If someone is willing to help me out with fliers and getting them around town, let me know. This is the only main way the public will get word that it happens at this point. Telll your friends, word of mouth is huge. Let me know what kind of special event might be neat to do on some weeks, I definitely want to get some cool stuff going on. Redbull night? Vendor night? SPecial discounts? there an event site on C/L i think we can use it to post or bigger runs and gathering. let me know if you need help with flier, ride around and pass them out.
bike night could use a little work but the basics are there we just need better communication whats happen and where. as for the deer that go's under the heading **** happins although they seem to be thick this year, its the drunks i hope i don't run into. i do not ride at night much any more so i'll do bike nite 1 or 2 times a month and call it good.

Im kinda nervice about going to a bike night cause of the long ride i would have to make my self from Elkton in the dark. Thats back roads, and how new of a rider i am. maybe when i have more then the 45 mi on my bike i have now.

I don't go for rides at night, though sometimes I do need to get home at that time (I wouldn't call it a ride - it's transportation at that point). Regardless, greater caution is definitely warranted.

Depending on what your work schedule is you can always post for a ride closer to you or get to know us and I'm sure there would be a place to set your head for the night. Riding at night can be scarey.

FYI to those who I was speaking to about my car: We ran the numbers and it had to have been a 5k fifth to about 7.5k fourth. So no worries, the motor should have been able to take it no problem. :thumbup:

I use the high corner speed, and brakes to walk on the bikes, but the straights are a good chance for me to work on my ability to identify bikes by their tail lights. :laughing:

Well eugene sport bike enthusiasts I was there once again and not a single soul showed up nothing except for an older guy on a 48 harley knuckelhead my ninja and the Q-Link 250 my buddy was riding next thursday guys come one you all said it rain or shine i was there waiting for an hour 1/2 eating pizza and waiting for an opportunity to meet some more people that ride everyday like myself so next time when its raining I would atleast like to see someone to make an attempt to go to bike night im the only one there rainy days and sunnydays i usually cant make it due to work so if anyone is going to show up this thursday call me in advance so i know if i should go or not 743-5988 Billy

I saved the police scanner sound bites from Lane County's archive. The cop was like "wow, 30 dirtbikes huh? Did the Advantage Security guy call this in?" and the dispatcher said something like "unkown, all I have was that it was a citizen complaint."

So yes, I think the cop was annoyed with the mall cop too. :wtf:
