Aufderheide is the bomb - probably my favorite road. It runs between Westfir and Blue River. I like the ride better heading North (starting from West Fir). Mason's pics look like they were taken on the North end of Cougar reservoir (the road that runs by the reservoir is Aufderheide or becomes Aufderheide - not sure which exactly), just a few miles South of HWY 126.

it should be warm enough in may to do the run, till then i'm stick en to the foot hills.
i'll let you know when i'm headed to the mountains.
note: watch for rocks on the reservoir/hwy.126 side of the run. first 3 miles or so.

Probably not a good idea until June. Give the crews a chance to clear the road...

Probably not a good idea until June. Give the crews a chance to clear the road...+1.... that road is dangerous enough without having to worry about winter debris.........but it is one hell of a fun road. Hope they got all of the culverts filled this time:rolleyes:
Nice pictures Mason!
Just watched this video again from last year and can't wait to do it again!

that is a great video brightened up my day.
note, note: the rocks on the road around the rock face cliff are year round.
Hey Tess, are you able to view the video yet? If not, I just recently acquired a DVD burner so I can burn the uncompressed version on a DVD. Much better video quality and can be viewed full screen without the distortions seen in the compressed version.
If anyone else is interested in the uncompressed version, just get me a blank DVD and I'll burn you a copy. The uncompressed version is about 2 GB and won't fit on a normal CD. I'll be at bike night and will probably be the one wandering around with a video camera.
