Nice to "meet" you all! I've had my '03 ZX-6R for about a month now, and was riding a Ninja 250 for about a year before that. I've always thought bikes were cool, but finally got into riding myself after sittin' on the back of my boyfriend's bike for a couple years. Got bored, hadda get my own! He's now got a '98 ZX-6R. Anyway, we just heard about this forum, so we'll be around. Hope to see some of you for a nice ride sometime soon! Wave if you see me on the street - all black bike, black jacket, *pink* helmet! ;->

My wife is taking her first ever motorcycle class on the 10th of May. The riding part of her class should be the 12th and 13th. I plan on inviting a few peeps to cheer her on, or giggle, as she learns to ride. Im currently shopping for a bike for her, she really has her heart set on a little GSXR-600, but perhaps an older "starter" bike makes more sense for her first one. ( She has only been on the back till then. ) She is HUGE on fashion, and wants to buy a pink helmet, little pink riding pants and jacket, etc. :)

Welcome. I'm fairly new here myself. Not really a "sportbiker", but since this is the only Eugene based motoforum, here I am.

If you happen to see someone on an all black 1982 BMW, black jacket, red helmet, it's me. Wave back at me.
Or, if you happen to see someone on an almost all red 2003 Aprilia, black jacket, red helmet, that's me too.

Try to convince her to get a 500 Ninja. My kid got one for his first bike, and when he gets tired of it, I want it.
What a fun bike. We've installed some free flowing mufflers on it, rejetted, put on a 15 tooth front sprocket (one tooth smaller than stock), and it will do a GPS certified 125 mph.
Easy enough ride for a beginner, and guaranteed not to get boring in a year.

+1. My wife has a Ninja 500 and we love it too! VERY good beginner bike. But then again, everyone on this forum has heard me say that before!!
