I decided to post this up, because I am not the only Newb here. I still have to take my class, and am going to sign up. Are there any instructors here? If so, please feel free to post up on what to expect, etc. I want to know every detail. http://www.oregonsportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbup.gif

im not an instructor but i did take team Oregon about 2 months ago in roseburg.team oregon is a 3 day course. the first day was asigning what group ur in A or B and u start with some book work that they will be handing out. my class had about 20 people.
2nd day
i was group A so we rode first in the morning. first thing they do is check your safty gear helmet. gloves. boots or hitop sneakers, and long sleave jacket and pants jeans ok. then they asign u a bike there cb125 and wf 200 and 2 other ones one looks like a 250 vargo and the last is a duel sport. after that they have u push each other around on the bike. j/k thats what they use to do. once on the bike they have u follow hand signals. after the bikes on they have u put it in first gear and have u walk the bike with clutch control and braking. by the end of the day ur feet are on the pegs and ur counter steering to turn. then u have a break then u have classroom work
day 3
they teach u how to do tight turns. sudden turns to miss objects . hard braking and slolom in between cones. then riding test then break then classroom go over and then writen test. if pass all then give u a card u hand in to dmv and pay fee and then ur on the legal.
hope this helps u guys

Yeah their pretty booked up until the end of july, and the spots fill up fast. They told me to show up for a class if its already full, and if somebody doesnt show up for the class then you can take their spot. I only live like 10 min from there so i might try that, but if you live farther away i dunno if it would be worth the drive.

I just took the class in May. I had never even started a bike up... It starts at the most basic level and they have advanced classes that you can take. I is a GREAT class! Anyone would benifit from the class... They book at least 1 1/2 months out! And don't be late the first night... there were 3 people waiting to take a spot if some was a no show. Go to they web site and call the number asap if you want to be riding this Summer.
Noah, Bobby, Brian and my brother Jason rode out to see me the 2nd day... At least they didn't end up doing the wave!

I took that class out there at LCC last year. It was good - if for nothing else then to get you over that nervouse "I have not done this for a while" jitters. I took it mostly because it is agreat way to avoid the DMV and also to keep my wife company. We just showed up and waited for the slackers to not show up. It worked for us but be there a hour early so you are the first on the waiting list. I really like the class but it is really really slow. They do a great job of teaching basic technique though. I also heard there advanced classes are really fun too. Good luck.

well, surprisingly, you can find some open slots. i was a total f***in' tard and missed the class i had originally signed up for, and found the next class to be open (this week). if you're in the Lane area, check out lanecc.edu and look under continuing ed summer classes (or fall). lots of people cancel or back out in the weeks before the classes, and so there are openings. and then of course, as someone mentioned, you can just show up early (i tried that unsuccessfully-- show up REALLY early, like an hour early) and you can take a spot of someone that doesn't show (like when i missed my class). anyways, i'm scheduled to take it this thursday/weekend. yay.
