When I was cleaning my scooter today I sprayed my disc brakes with an Amour All type of cleaner, by accident mind you. I get on my bike only to find that I have no brakes. So I was wondering if there is a good fast way to clean them up and get my ride on the road again.

You are very lucky you didnt get any on your tires. I once saw a guy completely miss a corner into traffic because he got something similar on his tires.

i think brake cleaner to the rotors and a light filing on the pads auta doit.
(clean file with brake cleaner before applying to pads or just buy new pads)

a light (very light) scuffing of your rotors with 3m red pads and then clean them with brake cleaner. when you have it all clean and put back together, I recommend finding some where enclosed (parking lot) and try dragging them a little bit to bring them back. if you want to take them off and check them, it is far easier then you think. PM me if you still need help and I will do my best to get you back to riding.......

..... what the hell were you using armor all on your bike for anyway?

I always use Simple Green and a 3M pad.

Thanks for the info. I use some rubbing alcohol on the disk while having a friend sit on it hitting the brakes. It seemed to work okay. Thanks again Lee.
