My roommate from Portland (also a 749 dark rider ;) ) is coming down here to ride this coming weekend and really wants to take a stab at Aufderheide... I'm thinking Sunday around 11am or noon... anyone interested? time is very flexible, but thought we'd go early enough to still enjoy our evenings...

also wanting to ride wolf creek that saturday... 6/2, dont know what time yet... post up!

ARGHHHHH! I leave that morning on business. :mecry:

Lee, you should probably plan on 4 hours.

brian- maybe you can join saturday for wolf creek and surrounding area? i'm trying to show nathan around down here, since he's never ridden in this area at all...

lee- its a little over 100miles altogether, but we stop in a couple places to rest and chit chat... i think brian hit it on the nose with 4 hours, counting stops.

I'm away on business right now, and Saturday is my only day back, so the wife and I are planning on spending some quality time together. No, not what you are thinking - we are spending it on the motorcycle!! We are riding to Florence for lunch and back (solo, so we can get some togetherness!).

I might make the wolf creek Tess. If you can give us a closer proximity to the time you'll be out there. I might make aufder, but it's a little early to say. I did wolf creek today. Looking very good:bounce:

I might make it, and if I do I'll be with a Newbie, You are more than welcome to hang out in the back with us! There are a couple corners (decreasing radius/off camber) that can sneak up on you, but it's a beautiful ride, and as long as you take it easy and don't push yourself... you'll be fine. :D

it is a little bit of a challenging road, more near the cougar side. we have had plenty of new people ride it in our group rides. we always make sure someone is with you, and we all meet up at certain points to make sure everyone is ok. You'll be fine as long as you ride at a comfortable pace and just enjoy yourself, as opposed to trying to push it. come along, you'll have a blast!

Sounds like fun! You know I should most definitly, probably, possibly, consider, making it out for both rides.http://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/rad.gif But will probably be most down for the Wolf Creek ride.http://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/bounce.gif Aufty is bumpy... http://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/crash.gif But I will probably break down and come on the Aufty run too.

I just need to keep reminding myself, the sooner I dump my bike, the sooner I can justify getting a new one! http://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/bounce.gifhttp://eugenesportbike.com/forum/images/smilies/newsmilies/drool.gif

I just washed my bike , and loaded up the camera etc. I am headed ot Lorane
Highway as soon as I get gas. Will probably go out to Hamm Road and cut across to Creswell, go over I-5 and take Cloverdale rd to Hwy. 58, and then to the Texaco where we are all meeting. I will either see you out there somewhere, or at the Texaco later.

A great ride today. Definitely worth coming down from Portland. DJ, I'm sorry that you had a ride off but at least you're ok. It was nice meeting everyone that I had a chance to.

Sorry if I held anyone up in the turns during the ride. This was a new road for me with off camber turns I wasn't familiar with so I had to be extra careful, especially in the blind corners.

You have a great group of Eugene area riders. Very safe and controlled from what I saw. Thanks for including me in your ride. You all put on a great show!! I was privaledged to get to watch you all rip thru the corners. MORE!!!!

thank you to everyone who showed up! i had a great day and it was awesome to see so many new faces!! i think devin and i counted 26 altogether, once karen and her 3 friends joined up with us. love seeing those wonderful pics!! glad our downed rider (and his bike) were ok and able to finish the ride. this was a great way to end my eugene-area season... i'll try to make it down once in a while this summer, but once i move i dont know how often that will happen. i'm going to miss all you guys! the folks in p-town will never replace ya'll as my "group"! if anyone ever wants to come up north and ride, let me know and we'll get together!! :ride: :smilewink
